TheCentralNebraskaLOSSTeamofKearney has been in existence since 2014, serving as a vital support resource for families in central Nebraska who have lost a loved one to suicide. The team’s postven- tion efforts include compassionate follow-up care and ongoing support services to help families navigate the aftermath of loss. Research consistently shows that families in crisis benefit greatly from peer-to-peer support , and the LOSS Team has been there to walk alongside families during these difficult times. In addition to direct support, the team is also committed to suicide prevention through education and awareness efforts across the region.
