Baker School of Nursing- Baker CARES Experiencing and Learning About Health Care Pathways Date : May 3 from 10am-2pm Age Level : J C S A Join the Baker School of Nursing for this introduction to healthcare professions, where you can get hands on experience with healthcare skills, participate in discussions with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, and network with leaders in healthcare to begin your future as a leader in a healthcare role. We will introduce a variety of pathways to work in a health- related field. Girls will get a tour of the lab, ER, blood bank, and the medical/surgical unit with an opportunity to remove sutures, get hands-on with X-Rays, and try out Occupational Therapy. Remake Learning Days Festival at Johnson County Community College Date : May 3 from 10am-3pm Age Level : D B J Remake Learning Days (RLD) is a celebration of creative experiences and opportunities for youth and families. RLD events embrace hands-on learning, innovative experiences, and encourage a lifelong interest in STEAM activities for children. There will be DOZENS of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math activities perfect for ages 3-10. Location : Johnson County Community College (12345 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS 66210) Cost : Free Photo Explorers with the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium Date : May 10 from 8:30am-12pm Age Level : J C Visit the Zoo to explore photography and take part on a guided scavenger hunt to capture special animal moments. Girl Scouts are welcome to bring their own cameras, but are not required. This workshop will introduce scouts to terminology, some best practice techniques, and experience taking photos of animals in the park to earn the Digital Photography badge! Get excited, Girl Scouts! Our very own Girl Scout badge workshop at Green Dirt Farms. Attendees will get the full tour including seeing the sheep, a walk through the dairy parlor, and learning about the cheese making process.
