Dear Supporters,
I am incredibly grateful to have been entrusted with the extraordinary honor of overseeing the Legends of Ranching program, a program built by the innovative hands before me, mentors who not only shaped this legacy but also shaped me. They once stood in the very position I now hold, and they taught me from it. Harry Haythorn once sent me a message that I have carried with me ever since: “When I see people a horseback, it makes me smile. Go forth and do great things.” I like to believe that simple encouragement is part of how I found my way here. Stepping into this role, I had no intention of reinventing the wheel. Rather, what I wanted was to make the existing wheel remarkable. Lackluster is not in my vocabulary, but sparkle is. I hope that as you experience any of our Legends of Ranching events, you leave with a little sparkle. Horses have made all of my dreams come true. They have connected me to agriculture, to people, and to a deeper understanding of myself. One of my greatest accomplishments has been the privilege of guiding the students who fill this program with hope. The hope that the horse might help make their dreams come true. That hope is only possible because of people like you. Your belief in this program, in our students, and in the future of agriculture helps keep the legacy alive. Thank you for supporting the next generation of leaders, and for helping ensure that the tradition and opportunities of the ranching community continue to thrive.
