In 1968 , William " Billy " S . Morris III of Augusta , Georgia , acquired Creek Plantation , in Martin South Carolina , comprising of 2526 acres of timberlands and open field used for agriculture . The acquisition offered Morris the opportunity to pursue a lifelong interest in quarter horses and to launch a first - rate breeding program . Over the years , the operation expanded to nearly 14 , 000 acres and encompasses three commercial enterprises : horses , cattle , and timber . In the mid - 1970s , Morris became interested breeding and raising American Quarter Horses . His passion for raising horses was the catalyst for becoming heavily involved in the sport of cutting and not only was instrumental in founding the Augusta Futurity but expanded his breeding program that went on to produce numerous NCHA winners . Some of his most significant offspring include Doc Solena , Creeks Rey , Miss Jamaica Peppy , Short Nip Nap , Dulces Joker , Docs Bar Pep , Stylish Mr Kim , Shes Pretty Smooth ( dam of Smooth As A Cat ), Miss Kim O Lena ( dam of Snip O Gun ), and Wheeling Peppy among others . Creek Plantation has been committed to excellence in breeding American Quarter Horses for over 50 years now and has been recognized for many accomplishments throughout the life of the program , but three years ago Creek Plantation was awarded with AQHA ’ s highest honor – the 2023 Best Remuda Award . The remuda now consists of 9 stallions , most notably Boon Too Suen , PG Heavily Armed , Cattalou , The Boon , and herd of around 80 mares with the intent of breeding horses for conformation , versatility , ranch work , and the ability to excel in any performance horse discipline . Morris ' agricultural interests are not limited to horses , he also has built a commercial cattle operation , consisting of approximately 1200 commercial cows , as well as a small herd of Texas Longhorns , hay production , an orchard of pecan trees , irrigated row crop land , commercial hunting , and a timber operation . The Morris family remains committed to the equine industry , western lifestyle , and land stewardship , passing these values on to the next generation . Billy ’ s three children and six grandchildren are : Will Morris IV , Tyler Morris , Susie Morris Baker , William Morris V , Lee Baker Jr , Gray Morris , Mary Ellis Baker , Alden Baker , and Ben Baker .
