Spur Cross Ranch , located in Gallatin Gateway , Montana just outside of Bozeman , is the home of Ingram Quarter Horses . For over 35 years Mike and Sheila Ingram have bred , raised and trained quality American Quarter Horses . The ranch currently stands two stallions , PEPTOES , a big - boned , sure - footed red roan whose sire Peptoboonsmal is an all - time leading sire with performers earning more than $ 28 , 600 , 000 . He is out of a daughter of the great Doc O ’ Lena , an NCHA Futurity Champion , and sire of NCHA ’ s first Triple Crown winner Smart Little Lena . The ranch ’ s second stallion , SCR PEPTOES STREAK , a 2017 buckskin by the great A Streak of Fling , and out Ingram Quarter Horses mare SCR Peptoes Diamond , a granddaughter of million - dollar sire Shining Spark , has been part of the breeding program for several years . Broodmares are selected for Spur Cross Ranch ’ s versatile remuda , not only by genetics , but for conformation , disposition and performance records , including mares by Metallic Cat , A Smooth Guy , A Streak of Fling , One Famous Eagle , Metallic Rebel , One Time Pepto , Reyzin The Cash , Hickory Holly Time , and Smooth Talkin Style . Spur Cross Ranch strives to keep their program diverse by breeding to stallions throughout the industry , including racing , western performance , and rodeo events . The ranch is currently breeding for the 2026 season to industry leading stallions The Darkk Side , Pride and Joyy , Shawne Streakin Jet , and Third Edge . Horses wearing the Spur Cross brand are designed to be versatile and have had success in multiple disciplines including reining , reined cowhorse , cutting , ranch versatility , and rodeo timed events . Recently their filly SCR Cats Merada Pep , “ Winnee ” competed in barrel racing at the 2025 National Finals Rodeo !
