General conditions
How long is the guarantee valid? This guarantee is valid for ve (5) years from the original date of purchase from IKEA. LAGAN and TILLREDA appliances and fridge/freezers have a 2-Year Guarantee valid from the original date of purchase. If service work is carried out during the guarantee period, this will not extend the guarantee period for the appliance, or new parts. Who will execute the service? The IKEA service provider will provide the service through its own service operations or authorised service partner network. What is not covered under this guarantee? • Deliberate or negligent damage; damage caused by failure to observe operating instructions, connection to the wrong voltage; damage caused by chemical or electro-chemical reaction; rust, corrosion, water damage including but not limited to damage caused by excessive lime in the water supply; damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions • Consumable parts including batteries and lamps • Non-functional and decorative parts which do not aect normal use of the appliance, including any scratches and possible colour dierences • Accidental damage caused by foreign objects or substances and cleaning or unblocking of lters, drainage systems or soap drawers • Damage to the following parts—ceramic glass, accessories, crockery and cutlery baskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals, lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs, casings and parts of casings— unless such damage can be proved to be due to production faults • Cases where no fault could be found during a technician’s visit • Repairs not carried out by our appointed service providers and/or an authorised service contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used • Repairs caused by installation which is faulty or not according to specication • The use of the appliance in a non-domestic environment, ie. professional use • Transportation damages. If a customer transports the product to their home or other address, IKEA is not liable for any damage that may occur during transport. However, in case of IKEA delivery of the product to the customer’s delivery address, then eventual damages to the product that occur during this delivery will be covered by IKEA (but not under this guarantee). For claims under this last particular condition, the customer should contact IKEA Customer Service at IKEA.com.au • Cost for carrying out the initial installation of the IKEA appliance. However, if an IKEA-appointed service partner repairs or replaces the appliance under the terms of this guarantee, the appointed service provider or its authorised service partner will re-install the repaired appliance or install the replacement, if necessary.

METOD kitchen system 25-Year Guarantee
The benets provided by these guarantees are in addition to other rights and remedies which may be available to the consumer under Australian Consumer Law. What will IKEA do to correct the problem? IKEA will examine the product and decide if it is covered under this guarantee. IKEA will then, at its choice, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. If IKEA chooses to repair a defective product, IKEA will be responsible for the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair sta that IKEA incurs, provided that the product is accessible for repair without IKEA incurring additional expenditure to gain access. This will not apply in cases where repair work has not been authorised by IKEA. Any defective parts removed in the course of repair works will become the property of IKEA. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. IKEA will decide, at its discretion, what will constitute an appropriate replacement. Conditions for the guarantees The guarantees are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase. Exclusions The guarantees do not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. The guarantees do not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. The guarantees do not apply if products have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment, or if the products have been used for non-domestic purposes (unless otherwise stated). The guarantees do not cover consequential or incidental damages. If goods are repaired or replaced during the guarantee period, this will not extend the guarantee period for the product, new parts or replacement product. Further exclusions for specic products are set out in the specic product conditions on the following pages. The guarantees are valid in Australia only. They are to the benet of the original purchaser and are not transferable. For details see the guarantee conditions and descriptions for every product. General legal rights Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to major failure. The benets under our guarantees are in addition to other rights and remedies under law in relation to the goods
What products are covered under this guarantee? This guarantee applies to domestic kitchen use only. This guarantee covers all of the following parts of the METOD kitchen system: • Cabinet frames and fronts • UTRUSTA hinges • MAXIMERA fully-extending drawers • UTRUSTA tempered glass and melamine shelves • Plinths and legs • Cover panels, deco strips and mouldings • Benchtops except LILLTRÄSK • Sinks except FYNDIG Products not covered under this guarantee
Kitchen mixer taps have a 10–year guarantee.
Appliances have a 5–year guarantee.

Kitchen mixer taps 10-Year Guarantee
What is covered under this guarantee? This guarantee applies to domestic use only, and is valid for all kitchen mixer taps at IKEA, except for LAGAN taps, which have a 2-Year Guarantee. This guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship. What is not covered under this guarantee? This guarantee does not apply if the products have been used in a corrosive environment. This guarantee does not cover: • Normal wear and tear • Cuts or scratches • Damage caused by impacts, accidents or waterborne debris • The expendable lter/aerator, which should be cleaned regularly and replaced when worn out
Appliances 5-Year Guarantee
What is covered under this guarantee? This guarantee is valid for all appliances purchased after 1 April 2012, except for LAGAN and TILLREDA appliances and fridge/freezers, which have a 2-Year Guarantee. The guarantee covers faults of the appliance which have been caused by faulty construction, or material faults, from the date of purchase from IKEA. This guarantee applies to domestic use only. Within the guarantee period, the costs to remedy the fault, eg. repairs, parts, labour and travel, will be covered, provided that the appliance is accessible for repair without special expenditure. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.
