Social Media Conference Award The Fort Worth Police Department won third place at the 2017 Government Social Media Conference and Expo’s Golden Post Awards held in Dallas. They were nominated in the category “Best Use of Humor on Social Media”. The Golden Post Awards honor outstanding use of social media in local and state government agencies across the United States.

North Division Facility Ground Breaking

On April 3, the City of Fort Worth celebrated the groundbreaking of the new North Divi- sion Patrol Facility (formerly referred to as Sixth Division) at 8755 N. Riverside Drive in north Fort Worth. The groundbreaking cere- mony was attended by Mayor Betsy Price, Assistant City Manager Valerie Washington, Chief Joel Fitzgerald, other city manage- ment, City Council members, and communi- ty stakeholders. The facility is fully funded by the Crime Control and Prevention District and is expected to be completed in spring 2018.

On June 26, the Riverside Business Alliance celebrated a special public private partner- ship with the Fort Worth Police Department that helped to reduced crime in the Six Points Urban Village area by 40% from 2013 to 2016. During the celebration, Neighbor- hood Police Officers Adam Coleman and Douglas Gilfour were honored for their dedi- cation to the Riverside Community. Back the Blue

Congratulations to the graduates of Recruit Class 141 for a job well done. On April 14, Recruit Class 141 graduated from the FWPD Academy, putting 35 new officers on the streets of Fort Worth.
