Water Polo High School Boys • AGES 14-18 Introductory and advanced water polo instruction is provided. Lesson plans include conditioning, mobility drills with and without the ball, passing, shooting, basic rules of the game, individual skill development and the concept of team play and sportsmanship with scrimmages. Advancing athletes will progress to more advanced individual and team techniques taught by an experienced coaching staff from West Suburban Water Polo in preparation for competitive league play offered at various times during the year. Athletes must be able to safely swim 500-yards freestyle in an all- deep pool and be able to tread for 15 minutes. The coaching staff groups participants based on their skill level and swimming ability. Participants must be enrolled in High School to sign up for this level. Prior experience is not necessary. However, class supervision will be limited with participants directing dryland, warm-up, skill development, deep water cage shooting and scrimmage play during each session. Athletes will be grouped according to ability and be developed commensurate with ability. Optional travel events and area League play will require additional fees based upon interest level and will be coordinated by the staff of West Suburban Water Polo Club - Master’s Level Program.
