Babysitter Training • AGES 11-16 The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED - BL course prepares youth ages 11-16 to care for children and infants safely and confidently. It includes hands-on activities videos and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course safely covers feeding, diapering, picking up and holding children safety and how to respond in an emergency. Since CPR can be physically demanding, participants should weigh at least 85-90 pounds. This blended learning course also includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion, which must be completed prior to attending the in-person training, and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 3 hours to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of both the online and in person portions of the course, a valid 10-year Babysitter’s Training digital certification and a valid 2-year digital certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued. Chess Wizards • AGES 6-12 Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons. Participants also will learn important life concepts including learning the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students are grouped according to their chess experience. Each student has the chance to participate in a mini chess tournament by the end of the session. This winter- themed camp is the ultimate playground for ages 8-12 years old to dive into the realm of Artificial Intelligence. Ninjas will work in a guided environment to complete coding exercises, play interactive AI-powered games, and solve creative challenges while whipping up winter-themed art and music like tech-savvy elves. They will also get to explore the mysterious world of semantic networks, which is fancy talk for how AI thinks. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any cooler, participants will train the Teachable Machine with different data samples to create and test their very own AI-driven models. Snow much fun!
