CBEI Central Wisconsin Fall 2022 Report

Shoals Shift university, community and business partners have organized pitch contests, high school coding academies, an innovation week and more. This successful initiative has transformed the region into a tech hub, attracting entrepreneurs and creating employment for the area. Strategic Doing has been used in other communities as well. Texarkana used Strategic Doing to build a beautiful, art-filled greenspace around its courthouse. Milwaukee used Strategic Doing to start the Milwaukee Water Council, an incubator for water-based businesses. Finally, Chattanooga has become one of the top tech hubs in the country because 20 years ago a Strategic Doing initiative focused on bringing technology companies to the area. The Central Wisconsin region will soon join the 300 communities that have seen success from the Strategic Doing discipline. Planning is underway to bring a Strategic Doing initiative to Central Wisconsin focused on transforming our local economy. To find out how you can get involved, please contact Prof. Kevin Neuman, head of the School of Business and Economics, at kevin.neuman@uwsp.edu.
