Mr. Mallis, records this translation of. Psa. 37:7-B‘Be silent to God and let Him mould thee.” Non-resistance is the essen tial quality in moulding material. When the clay looses this quality, it ceases to he of use to the moulder, and the glory of what it might be becomes impossible. —o— Three times during His public ministry Jesus raised the dead. (3) An only brother (Jn. 11:43). . —o—- ■ ' Weymouth translation of 2 Cor! 12:7-9 —“Lest I should be over-elated there’ has been sent to me, like the agony of impale ment,. Satan’s angel, dealing' blow after blow, lest I should be over-elated. Three times have I besought the Lord to rid me of him; but His reply has been, ‘My Grace suffices for you, for power matures in weakness^’ Most gladly, therefore, will I boast of my infirmities rather than com plain-1of them—in order that Christ’s power may overshadow me.” 1 o— Greatest single word in , the Bible—- “Come.” (Isa. 1:18; Matt. 11:28). Great est two words in the Bible—“I will.” (Lk. 15 :18). Greatest three-word phrase in the Bible—“God is love.” (1 John 4:8). Great est four-word phrase in the Bible—“Thy will be done.” (Matt. 6:10). —o—■ In the Old Testament—God at work for man. In the Gospels—Christ at work with men. In the Acts—the' Holy Spirit at work in men. —o—^ , Here is a helpful translation of Psa. 37:5.—“Roll thy way upon the Lord and He will do all.” If we wish to know the ability of God to do things in us and through us, there must be a definite com mittal to Him. —o— Gethsemane, the place of suffering. Gabbatha (Jn. 19:13), the place of judg ment. Golgotha (Mk. 15:22), the place of crucifixion. —o— Contrasting the fruit of the Spirit and the works of the flesh, Dr. Morgan says: “Work is an operation in the realm of death. In all of man’s works there is the element of disintegration and break up. When you see fruit, you see the op eration of life.” —o— In Heb. 11:10 we read that God is “builder and maker.” The original has it, “architect and builder.” It is the only place in the New Testament we have the word for “architect.” “Striving together” (Phil. 1 :27), is ren dered in some Greek Lexicons—“cooper ating vigorously.” This is the kind of fel lowship in the Gospel we want; not merely a shilling put in the box for “the Lord’s work,” but a vigorous cooperation of the whole company-—males and females— heart and hand. That such is possible, we learn from chap. 4:3 (the only other place where the word occurs in the New Testament). There, the apostle tells of
Anaesthetic Verse When you have a friend who is going on the operation table, give him the anaesthetic verse of the Bible.—Prov. 3 :24. “When thou liest down thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.”

Said Dr. W. B. Hinson, “A man asked me if I had the same zeal, The1’ same freshness, the same ardor in connection with preaching that I had when I com menced. And I said, ‘No, I have not the same, I have it increased a hundred-fold!’ And I will tell you what has largely in creased it. I have seen His power. They tell me that the gospel for the twentieth century is a gospel of the soup kitchen, and the better sewage of the city, and the uplift of humanity. But I think the gos pel for the twentieth century is the Gos pel that saved my soul ! I think the gos pel for this year of our Lord is the Gospel that puts a man into right adjustment with Almighty God. I sometimes sit down and think of the thousands I have wel comed inter The Christian’ church, and every single one of them is an argument evidencing the !outputting ’of the power of Jesus'to buttress my faith, and make me resolute and doggedly determined to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the end.” F ire T h e .P reacher An experienced minister was once ask ed, “What would you do if you were just a lay member of the church?” He,;thought for a moment, and replied, “I believe if I were a lay member of the church, the first thing I would do would be to fire the min ister.” “You mean that you would get a new minister ?” Oh, no, not at all ; I would not fire him out ; I would fire him up!” He would put some new warmth into his heart. The great apostle Paul, a man of un usual spiritual experience, needed to plead with young converts to pray for him “that the word of the Lord might have free course and be glorified” (2 Thess. 3:1). Do you realize the barriers and restraints against the Gospel? Do you know that the preacher has a special malice of the devil to contend’ with? Do you realize that Satan will do anything to kill a ser mon before it gets to those who need it?
those devoted women who “cooperated vigorously”, with him in the Gospel.
, A man of God'said, “I like best of all that definition of humility that traces the m e a Hi,h g to the etymology— humus, “ground,” i.e., ^Humility, not rising far above the ground.’ I like to think of the exquisite trailing aibutus, always half hid den, or the lowly violet, in tcontrast with the tall and brazen sunflower.’gj® —o— It is said that -“halielujahV is the one word that is common to all languages: So far as- we know, it is1 never translated; but, instead is transferred-into the books for the use: of all races. No doubt it is a word that , strayed away from heaven and the saved- will doubtless continue its use up there. Hallelujah! *-------——--- — :----- ------— T------■# POINTERS FOR PREACHERS S ff. They have scarcely any horns, but abundance of meat. But go to the heights on every side and you’ll find a breed which grows scarcely anything but horns. These an imals are constantly hooking each other. So there are some Christians who seem to live on the cold and barren heights of controversy and everything they eat grows into horns, the strength of which they are constantly testing. The sun warms at the same moment it enlightens. The truth
