A Trans-Continental Tour

G ir L s C apture T he C up

A GOSPEL Team of Bible Institute '■young men is now completing arrange ments for a trans-continental tour this coming summer. They will leave Los Angeles immediately after Commence ment, and, plan to reach New York the latter part qf August. The travel route will include such main points as Albu querque, Denver, Omaha, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsr burgh, Washington, D. C., and New York. The working plans call for from one to three nights of evangelistic meetings in a place as the way may .be opened. The personnel of the team is. as fol lows: Harold Pugh, ’27, first tenor; Ward Altig, ’27, second tenor; Harry Neufeld, ’22, P. G., ’27, baritone; Harlan Fischer, ’26, bass ; ,with P e r c y Crawford, ’26, speaker. Three of these men, Messrs. Crawford, Fischer and Altig, were mem bers of the team that last summer traveled as far north as Vancouver, British Colum bia, covering forty-six hundred miles, and holding one hundred and twenty-four ■evangelistic services in seventy-six days in forty-two different places, with many evidences of the Lord’s approval. Such experience has urged this similar work this summer, and these three and the others will be able to render even more fruitful service. The Team, while . not officially repre senting the Bible Institute, is. heartily commended by the Dean and the Execu tive Committee, and will go out supported by the earnest prayers of the whole Insti tute family. Their endeavor is altogether on faith. Support for the work must come wholly through free will offerings from services held and from the benefi cence of other interested friends. There are still open dates on the schedule. Churches and other organizations along the route of travel desiring the services of the team are advised to communicate at once with the Extension Department of the Bible Institute. —o— G lee C lubs on the R oad Both the Men’s and the Women’s Glee Clubs were busily engaged during the Easter Recess;' The Men, under the di rection of Professor J. B. Trowbridge, were on tour east, their schedule covering Brawley and Upland, California, and Yuma, Phoenix, Bisbee, Tucson, Globe and Mesa, Arizona. The Women’s Glee Club, with Professor H. G. Tovey in charge, traveled north along the valley route as far as Fresno. Their dates in cluded Bakersfield, Reedley, Fresno, Kingsburg, Fowler, Porterville, Fillmore, and Burbank, California. They report a cordial reception everywhere, with many evidences that the Lord has blessed their message. There are no doubt many pros pective students whose faces will be turned toward the Bible Institute through such contact.

Before a large audience in the Phil harmonic Auditorium in'competition with the Universities and College Glee Clubs of Los Angeles and district the Women’s Glee, Club of the Bible Institute under the direction of PROF. H E R B E R T G. TOVEY, carried first honors, being awarded the Silver Cup by the president of the California Eisteddfod- Association, Mr. James; G. Warren. Last year our young women carried off first prize in a similar competition, our Men’s Glee Club under PROF. TROWBRIDGE, taking second honors. Without question, your scribe believes there was nothing else to do but give the cup to our young ladies. They won it with distance to spare—and now— for next year!
