What I did: I worked on a variety of sales and marketing-related projects, focusing on assisting several key staff with their day-to-day activities. Examples of these projects include, and are not exclusive to, sales prospecting, customer follow-up conversations, customer and prospect presentations, RFP assistance, marketing campaign creation, pricing review, and data researching and entry. I was also responsible for some website inquiries. What I liked: I enjoyed not feeling like I was just an intern. This wasn’t the type of job where I would get them coffee and do all of their dirty work. They put trust in me to do certain tasks, and actually talk and set meetings with potential customers. They made me feel like I was an actual staff member and not just an intern.
Future Dream Job: Regional sales manager or director of sales.
