opening experience, and I felt a big sense of accomplishment when I graduated and set off to find a job.” After she graduated, Lauren moved close to Auburn because she loved the scenery and wanted to live out in the country. She and her husband purchased their home and settled down, and then Lauren found an opening at Auburn Dental Center. “I’ve been here ever since,” Lauren says, “and I love it. Getting to know my patients, working with an incredible team, and having conversations with the people here every day has been amazing.” Auburn Dental Center is proud to have such a wonderful individual on our team who cares so passionately about the work she does. When she’s in the office, you can find Lauren working hard and keeping herself equally busy as she helps her patients. Since starting here in July 2011, she has done her best while following her dream career as a hygienist. “As a kid, I really enjoyed going to the dentist,” Lauren remembers. “I always had a good experience. For me, it feels like I’m going to the spa. You’re lying there and being treated well; it’s relaxing.” As Lauren pursued this path through her school years, she soon realized that becoming a hygienist involved more than she realized. “When I first started going to school, I didn’t really know what I was getting into. I knew that hygienists cleaned the teeth but hadn’t realized how much more they do. Going through hygiene school made me realize, ‘Wow, there’s a lot more to it.’ It was an eye-

O utside of our office, Lauren Fries spends most of her free time with her husband and her twins, who are nearly 5 and keep her busy with the many activities they do. They’re currently enrolled in preschool and will be joining soccer this spring. “They keep me really busy!” Lauren says. She and her family, who live on an acreage, also find plenty to do around the house, whether that’s focusing on chores, working outside, or simply enjoying the spring weather.

1. Heat oven to 350 F, and line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. 2. In a large bowl, combine crumbs, butter, and food coloring. Press into the baking pan. 3. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar together. 4. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla. 5. Pour mixture over the packed crumbs. 6. Bake for 40 minutes or until the center is set. 7. Let cool completely before adding sprinkles and slicing.

• 1 cup graham cracker crumbs • 1 cup chocolate graham cracker crumbs • 1 stick butter, melted • 1 oz green food coloring (gel works best) • 3 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened • 2/3 cup sugar • 3 eggs • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract • Green sprinkles, optional
