Anniversary Conclave, Grand Polemarch Bates enacted the launch of the Lead- ership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) Kappa program at the 81st Grand Chapter Meeting. LEAD Kappa is a condensed extension of the successful Undergraduate Leadership Institute (ULI) program. The LEAD Kappa program is a four-day, direct-learning, and 50-hour instruction focusing on team-building and leadership skills. LEAD Kappa participants can attend the Conclave, and associated events with registration and lodging expenses are covered. Undergraduate members must apply for LEAD Kappa, with the ULI leadership reviewing applications to determine participants. The ULI leadership and IHQ expect strong attendance and participation from undergraduate brothers at the LEAD Kappa session at the 87th Grand Chapter Meeting in Phoenix, AZ.

nearly as old as the fraternity itself. It was performed at early Grand Chapter Meeting Closed Banquets until 1959, the fraternity’s Golden Anniversary. However, the number of participants present at this and subsequent occa- sions made conducting this service unfeasible. For this reason, while plan- ning the 50th Grand Chapter Meeting, Grand Polemarch C. Rodger Wilson reasoned that another commemora- tion would be needed to replace the Loving Cup Ceremony. The Oath of Rededication Ceremony was established to substitute for the
Loving Cup Ceremony. The Kappa Toast Song (No. 1) was designated to be sung during the new observance. Although the Oath of Rededication Ceremony is the official rite, the Loving Cup Ceremony is still allowed to be practiced, but not in lieu of its replacement. The Grand Chapter has not conducted a Loving Cup Ceremony at a Grand Chapter Banquet since the 49th Grand Chapter Meeting.
