Fraternity, Inc. member has taught me that if there is no struggle, there is no progress,” he explained. “My leader- ship style is simple: be the best in your field, have confidence, and you have to discover opportunities hidden in plain sight as a leader.” Freeman’s dedication to service is evident in his plans to create a nonprofit organization inspired by his children’s book, Building a Block with Brandon. The book emphasizes community organization and prob- lem-solving, echoing his belief that “collective power within the commu- nity can resolve problems.” “I’m building my block every day by being a change agent in all I do to impact future generations,” Freeman said. His message to young leaders is equally powerful, “Understand your- self to understand the world around you. The sooner you know your purpose in life, the more empowered you will be as a leader.” Freeman’s aspirations extend to law and finance, with plans to pursue a mas- ter’s in public administration at Cornell University on a full-tuition scholarship, followed by a juris doctorate at Yale Law School. His ultimate goal? “To start my venture capital firm to do social impact investing while civically engaging and running for office,” he revealed. This vision is guided by role models like Governor Wes Moore and the late Reginald Lewis. “Three past leaders who inspired me are W. E. B. Du Bois, Charles Hamilton Houston, and Regi- nald Lewis,” Freeman said. “Their work has inspired me to work in politics and business.” His advice to young leaders is clear: “Pursue your purpose by actively
