CHAPTER NEWS CENTENNIAL
C. Hamilton, 31st Grand Polemarch Dwayne M. Murray, Esq. Affectionately known as the “Birth- place of the Southern Province,” the chapter has hosted province councils, including the historic 60th Southern Province Council aboard the Carnival Cruise Fascination, C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conferences, Membership Training Academy Clusters, and served as host of the Inaugural Southern Province Golf Tournament at Slammer & Squire World Golf Village in 2022. LEARN 2 LIVE SUPPORT In 2018, the chapter was honored to welcome Then-Grand Board Member and current Grand Polemarch Jimmy McMikle to facilitate the fraternity’s national initiative, “Learn 2 Live,” on the campus of Edward Waters University. The chapter would host similar forums throughout the Jacksonville community later in 2018, 2019, and 2020. CHAPTER PLANS Led by Polemarch Frank C. Emanuel, the chapter continues to make strides as it prepares for the next 100 years. Its most current project is the construc- tion of the Dr. Charles B. McIntosh Community Achievement Center, a collaborative initiative between the Kappa Alpha Psi® Jacksonville Founda- tion and Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville. The vision for this 17,000 sq. ft. center is to provide a state-of- the-art facility so that the Foundation can continue its work in Northwest Jacksonville, which includes training and mentorship, while Wolfson will utilize the center for its patient and family-centered care. intends to accomplish its training and mentorship services which includes Five Program Components: 1. Life Skills Training: Character Development, Substance Abuse Prevention, Job/Career Readiness; 2. Leadership Training: Under- standing Leadership, Leadership Development, Mentoring; 3. Financial Literacy: Credit, Budget- ing, Investing; 4. Physical and Mental Health
Education: First Aid, Sustained Healthy Living, and Men’s Health; 5. Information Technology (IT): IT Education (Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office), IT Training (A+PC certification training), and Computer Lab Access for the community. The Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter will host various activities, including the 75th Southern Province Council, during the year-long celebration. ♦
