M aurice L. Weaver (Alpha Psi 1947) entered the Chapter Invisible on February 13, 2022. Weaver was born on January 1, 1928, as the only son of Lee Weaver and Heloise Richardson. Initially attending elemen- tary school in Leavenworth, KS, Weaver completed his school in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Kansas City’s historic Sumner High School in 1946. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. In 1950, the U.S. Army drafted Weaver, where he served in the Korean Con- flict until he was honorably discharged in 1952. After leaving the Armed Services, he worked briefly for the U.S. Postal Service in Kansas City MO, before transition- ing to education, working in the Kansas City (MO) School District. His first appointment was at West High School as an instructor of Biology. Other district appointments included an administrator at M.L. King
24, 2018. Ronald Jerome Wright, Sr. was born on August 15, 1961, in Brooks County, GA to the late Russell Wright, Sr. and Lucille (née Jones) Wright. Wright attended Brooks County Training School in Dixie, GA, Washington Street Junior High School and graduated from Brooks County High School in GA. He attended Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX, and then graduated from Edward Waters Col- lege with a B.A. in Business Administration. Wright worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) for 38 years, was a licensed Realtor with ABA Realty Company, and owned and operated Total Care Mortgage Com- pany with his wife Sharon. He was an initiate of the Edward Waters College Chapter, the Delta Psi of Kappa Alpha Psi, on May 29, 1982. He was also a Past Master of Henry Simmons Lodge #379 of the Most
Middle School, Paseo High School, and Director of the evening high school at both M.L. King and Paseo. Weaver was also in the first class of Octogenarians to be recognized by the TJB Foundation, and he was one of the oldest members of the Kansas City (MO) AL at the time of his passing. Brother Maurice L. Weaver is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marion; son, Michael L. Weaver, MD (Jamila); daughters Moné Weaver Swann, Pamela Evans Rowles, Robin Smiley (Arnold); grandchildren Austin Blockson, Christina, Jasmine and Brionna Rowles, great-granddaughter Makena Bennett; brother Roger Weaver; and a host of close friends and relatives. ♦
Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida, PHA, MW Walter Gulley, Jr. GM. Brother Wright was converted to Christ and baptized at the Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, GA. After moving to Jacksonville, he joined the Westside Church of God but regularly wor- shiped with family at the Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Sharon; three children, Justina Lynn, Ronald, Jr., and Anjalonette; eight siblings, Russell Jr. (Joyce), Melvin (Merle), Anjalonette Wright, Jeanetha Rountree (Milton), Larry (Ann), Leola Wright, Cynthia Vick- ers (Lloyd), Wanda Boyland (Carlos). ♦
