Miriam Walker is the owner and founder of MosesSista, a company specializing in handmade jewelry and organic body care products. She started the business in October 2020 after months of testing various formulas. In 2014, Walker was diagnosed with lupus, a disease that causes skin inflammation. She has since been intentional about consuming healthy foods and monitoring the products she applies to her skin. When her daughter returned from medical school for summer break last year, she told her mom about the research she’d recently done on making homemade skincare products. “She came home talking about it and then started trying to make her own,”Walker said. “My interest grew the more she was telling me about it.”While her daughter was working to create homemade skincare solutions, Walker was contemplating another idea that would lead to the second half of her business.
