t’s never too early to be thinking about the sum- mer – especially inDewey Beach, Delaware. Phase 1 construction is un- derway for a spectacular Hyatt Place Hotel and luxury con- dominium bayside resort in Dewey Beach, Delaware, with a Grand Opening anticipated by Memorial Day weekend 2013. Themulti-phased, multi-mil- lion dollar mixed use redevel- opment project at Lighthouse Cove (formerly Ruddertowne), one of the largest private con- struction projects underway in Delaware, will ultimately include the Hyatt Place Hotel; 105 luxury residential condo- miniums (known as the Resi- dences at Lighthouse Cove) with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay; a 21st Century confer- ence center with banquet capability and meeting space; three award-winning bayfront restaurants; and Welcome Center with commercial retail space; and both interior and exterior parking to accommo- date year-round amenities. The mixed use redevelop- ment project is owned by Dew- ey Beach Enterprises (DBE), whose managing partner is Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. DBE’s vision is help- ing this summer resort town evolve into a 21st Century destination worthy of its many amenities and consistent with the Town’s comprehensive de- velopment plan. As a unique stretch of real estate, Dewey Beach is a barrier island only two blocks wide, one mile long, and surrounded by water – the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Rehoboth Bay to the west. For families who love the water and family-friendly destina- tions, Dewey Beach marks a “way of life” for all types of recreation and relaxation, lo- cated only a short drive from New York City, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Washington DC. “This is a legacy redevelop- ment project for Dewey Beach and the entire coastline,” said E. Thomas Harvey III, presi- dent of DBE, “and the mixed use commercial, residential, and hotel conference center will expand family-friendly tourism and year-round living for decades to come.” In a challenging economic en- vironment, the Lighthouse Cove project is currently employing 45 I

full-time subcontractors, with 50+ additional plumbing, HVAC, and electrical subcontractors on the horizon for “rough-in” work in the coming weeks. Upon completion, the Lighthouse Cove Resort complex will increase property values and revenues in Dewey Beach, provide year- round employment, and expand family-friendly entertainment in the region. A final artistic rendering depicts the project upon com- pletion, showcasing a world- renowned Hyatt Place Hotel and 21st Century luxury con- dominiums that feature stun- ning views of both theAtlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. Given the scope of the proj- ect, DBE is partnering with specialists who know their re- spective trades. DBE secured a franchise agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation in July 2012. Headquartered in Chicago, Hyatt Hotels Corpo- ration is a widely recognized global hospitality company with a tradition of innova- tion and authentic hospitality developed over more than 50 years. The Hyatt Place Hotel at Lighthouse Cove marks the first-ever Hyatt brand in Delaware.

Meyer Jabara Hotels, an award-winning hospitality company owning and operat- ing premier hotels in 13 states, has been retained by DBE to operate the new Hyatt Place Hotel and adjacent confer- ence center. Meyer Jabara Hotels represent the brands of Marriott, Sheraton, Hil- ton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza as well as inde- pendent boutique hotels. The HiltonWilmington/Christiana in Newark, Delaware, The Courtyard by Marriott Boston Copley Square in Boston, The Stamford Marriot Hotel and Spa and Pier 5 Hotel in Bal- timore constitute a few of the marquis names Meyer Jabara represents. Hyatt Place Dewey Beach is currently accepting advance reservations for weddings, conferences, social events and group bookings. The phase 1 luxury con- dominiums, known as The Residences at Lighthouse Cove, are being built on the 4th floor above the Hyatt Place Hotel and thereby fea- ture unparalleled Oceanside views, with 2 BR, 3-BR and 4-BR models offering balcony or terrace privacy. An exquisite, fully-furnished condominium model is now open for private tour by appointment, with special broker and buyer in- centives underway. “Excitement has accelerated in the New Year, said Laura Henne, sales director, and five of the anticipated twelve luxury Oceanside condomini- ums have already sold.” “This project is a tribute to the strength of Delaware tourism and will be an out-

Dewey Beach and the sur- rounding coastline offerworld- class beaches, pet-friendly beach life, unparalleled bay recreation, upscale restau- rants and nightlife, tax-free shopping, and seasonal and year-round family-friendly amenities. But while progress makes its mark, Dewey Beach retains her charm with older cottages and homes, giving the Town a character all its own and making the Dewey Beach “way of life” an inher- ently personal experience. n
