This season has been seven years since my wife Kathy, and I first found ORPS. We rented our first year, but within 10 days bought a lot and moved onto it the next year. Our summer home is in the Portland, Oregon area. We have two daughters and two grandchildren. My

After retiring, this mom of three grown children and four grandkids decided she couldn ’ t spend one more wet winter sitting in Oregon. After hearing about this place called ORPS, I rented a lot and headed to the desert. I immediately fell in love with the beauty of this resort and

ORPS experience includes being on the Pickleball committee and the Emergency Response Team, leading Pickleball skills and drills on a weekly basis, volunteering for Singo, volunteering as a golf marshal, and participating in the entertainment events of Big Star and Murder Mystery. I was raised in the Pasadena area and moved north when Oregon State University offered me a scholarship to play water polo. I returned to southern California after graduation and taught school in East LA. While I have a master ’ s degree in education, I left the teaching business after five years and entered the restaurant business. I owned my own restaurant, helped start several others, and eventually returned to Oregon to take a job with Sysco food service as a salesman, and eventually a District Manager. I have over 40 years of experience in managing people in the restaurant and food service business which has given me a variety of experiences, which I feel will help me as a board member. I have patience, integrity, fortitude, an aptitude for listening and respecting ideas, fiscal management experience, and all manner of experience that comes with managing people in a work environment. I am running for the board because I want to carry on the positive improvements of our prior Administration(s). In our short tenure here, we have experienced a huge increase in excellent entertainment, increased support, and encouragement to participate in social clubs, increased integrity in the running of all of our sports, stronger employee/owner relationships, and increased attention to fiscal responsibility. I do not have big ideas for change because I already think this is a fantastic resort and I want it to continue. I will listen to ideas about positive change, and make decisions for the good of the community, but I also want to discourage negativity that comes without ideas for solutions. No place is perfect but Outdoor Resort is as close to it as I have ever experienced. If you elect me, I will work for everyone and be a champion for this wonderful winter home.

the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. There were so many amenities, activities and new sports to try. Before the season ended, I purchased my own lot. Every day I am grateful to be here with some of the kindest people I have ever known. I was raised in Portland, Oregon. I graduated from Oregon State University in Elementary Education. I became a member of KKG Sorority and held many leadership positions including house President. I spent 40 years as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist. During this time, I always found myself part of professional committees and holding leadership roles. I helped in the development and implementation of a district/w kindergarten program in one of Oregon's largest school districts, designed and opened a new school, chose curriculum, taught adults, and developed a school/w reading intervention program, to name a few. I am currently a founder/president of the CHS Alumni Foundation which gives financial support to students who want to participate in co - curricular activities but can ’ t afford the cost. I am a member of my HOA. I have always believed you have to do the hard work to get the best results. I ’ m a problem solver, quick to see the big picture, team player, good listener and I ’ m not afraid to have the hard conversations. I think a sense of humor can go a long way and giving grace to others is essential. I look forward to hearing what is important to you, the residents of ORPS. I ’ m currently on the Lifestyles committee and secretary of Safety and Security. If I am elected to the board, I will work hard for you as we continue to make the resort the best it can be. I ’ m committed to open communication as we continue to build a fiscally responsible resort that provides ongoing facility maintenance and improvements. I ’ ll continue to look for ways to improve our safety. I ’ ll make sure we have current systems that are effective and make sense. And above all, I ’ ll strive to keep ORPS a fun and happy place to be.
