My wife, Debbie, and I visited ORPS in October 2021 for a property tour. We quickly realized we had found our winter home away from home. The well - manicured grounds, amenities, activities, and RV lifestyle made ORPS the place for us. We purchased our lot and moved
Linda and I first came to ORPS in January 2022 as renters. In March of 2022 we purchased our lot and became full owner members of this great resort. We are fortunate to live only an hour and a half away in Lake Arrowhead. We were so

impressed with all of ORPS but particularly the people who reside full and part time at the resort. Linda and I are active golfers and Linda is a pickleballer her new love. Linda and I are mostly retired, she is a CPA with a few clients remaining and I still hold my California Auto Dealer license. As to my qualifications to be a member of the Board of Directors of our resort, I am currently a board member and the Secretary of Lake Arrowhead Country Club, a private equity country club. I have served on the Board of Directors for the last five years and I am in my final year as a director, we have term limits at the club. I have been the chairman of the Golf committee, chairman of the Communications committee, chairman of the Rules and the Bylaws committee and chairman of the Greens committee. Most of my working career I have been self - employed in the furniture business with three retail stores and many headaches, owner of an auto rental agency with five locations with many more headaches and the Information Technology business with only myself to blame. As a business owner the buck always stops with the owner. Dealing with Local, State and the Federal Government is at best a challenge for anyone operating any kind of business or private entity with employees. Therefore, after sixty years of experience in business I have seen most everything and gained a great amount of knowledge. It has served me well, though it has not always been easy. I would be a definite asset to the Board of Directors with no agenda except for what is best for owners, employees and vendors. I ask for your vote to be a member of the Board of Directors of Outdoor Resort Palm Springs.
Debbie and I have been married for 42 years and have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren who also love their many visits to ORPS. I have served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the past year and volunteered as a part of the Wednesday burger night crew. I am a resort ambassador and have recently assumed leadership responsibility for the Ambassador program at ORPS. My 45 - year career in education includes 23 years in senior administration serving as Superintendent/CEO and Deputy Superintendent of school divisions in Newfoundland and Alberta. Since retiring, I have joined the faculty of City University of Seattle teaching the Masters of Leadership program to future leaders in Western Canada. My role as a senior leader in the education system included working closely with our elected board of trustees. I understand and appreciate the differences in the roles of board members and management. I have extensive experience as a board member including this past year as an ORPS Board member and have served on several boards in education, mental health, golf and policing. My goal as a board member is to work collaboratively with my board colleagues and to continue the work I started this year in providing financial oversight as the board treasurer. Our reputation as a lifestyle community has to continue to grow with enhancements to existing amenities and the activities we offer all owners and renters while being mindful of owners' wishes and the budget. The popularity of ORPS is a result of the active lifestyle that we as owners can enjoy. Over the years great strides have been made in building a community that we are all proud to call home. A vote for me will continue that positive growth in our community and lifestyle opportunities.
