We’re on the Bulldog 100 List!
When I started Kevin Patrick Law, I did so with a dream. I wanted to create a law firm that provides the best advocacy for our clients and always be that honest and ethical trial attorney delivering exceptional results. While we didn’t have any clients initially and had many challenges to overcome, we’ve created a firm that truly strives to do our best for all of our clients. This year, the University of Georgia — my alma mater — listed me as one of the Bulldog 100. It’s a tremendous honor, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! It feels fantastic, but I’m also humbled to be recognized by UGA. I credit much of the firm’s accomplishments and growth to the university, so winning an award from them is certainly a career highlight. The Bulldog 100 recognizes the fast-growing companies run by UGA alumni. Winners come from various industries; we’re listed alongside innovators in many fields. Other Bulldog 100 winners include software developers, landscape
architects, and restaurant franchises. It’s not just another award, either. You win based on merit, as a university-affiliated accounting firm vets every candidate. While the award is in my firm’s name, I could never have gotten here without the support of a caring family and so many wonderful teachers and mentors along the way. My parents have always emphasized the importance of education, especially my mother who was always reading to me as a young child, and my father who insisted upon my pursuit of higher education. My wife Tracy has stood by my side since I started Kevin Patrick Law at the kitchen table, and I’m proud to call her our firm’s COO & CFO. My children inspire me to set an example for them to follow, and as we say, “Work Hard, Stay Humble, and Be Kind.”
me to be the attorney, and most importantly, the person I am today. The professors were inspiring, always daring me to pursue my legal dreams. The Classics Department and Honors Program, in particular, laid the foundation for my path to the practice of law. Last but not least, I want to thank everyone here who makes the firm what it is. It’s the work of our team that propels the firm. They all have such a caring and hard-working attitude. Without them, there would be no Kevin Patrick Law. It would just be me sitting at my kitchen table.
Thanks again to my family, UGA, and our legal team.
Go Dawgs!
I am beyond grateful for the University of Georgia for providing me with the education that allows

Understanding the Emotional Toll of Personal Injuries Compassionate Legal Counsel Personal injuries are often not just physical; they carry a profound emotional toll that goes beyond visible scars. We’re often tasked with navigating legal intricacies in a courtroom and understanding and addressing the emotional impact these incidents can have on our clients. When clients suffer personal injuries, they often experience a wide range of emotions, including shock, fear, anger, and frustration. Coping with the aftereffects of an accident is a deeply complex process, and I will always to my best to support our clients through it. We all recognize this emotional impact in the office, and we’re dedicated to being there for you in this process. We can even connect clients with mental health resources. For example, counseling or therapy services can provide clients with a structured and supportive environment to process the incident and their emotions. We strongly believe and encourage our clients to reach out to their friends, family, and loved ones to share in this healing process. They are invaluable in coping with the emotional aftermath of processing this event. This collaborative approach can aid in emotional recovery, foster your resilience, and ultimately bring healing and closure. Coping also includes having realistic expectations of the legal process. Unfortunately, sometimes, these cases are lengthy, and you may feel frustrated by the lack of movement. This can heighten your other emotions to overwhelm you. We’ll be sure to be open and honest with you about the legal process and set realistic expectations. Hopefully, this will help alleviate any anxiety about the case so you can focus on your life. Ultimately, a good lawyer’s role extends beyond a courtroom. We recognize and appreciate that you’re still physically and mentally healing. We’ll provide comprehensive support, keep you attuned to any changes in your case, and approach the attorney-client relationship with compassion and understanding.
Let’s embark on a journey around the globe to uncover some of the most unique laws on the books, from Arizona to Egypt. Protecting plants and birds, enforcing public cheerfulness, and preserving cultural dance traditions are among some of the examples of unique legislation we’ve uncovered. ARIZONA’S CACTUS CUSTODIANS In Arizona, the local cactuses are not just plants; they’re legally protected entities. It behooves everyone to avoid harming these prickly residents, as you could face up to 25 years in prison. This law serves as a stern reminder to treat nature with respect. The bottom line to stay out of jail? Don’t cut the cactus. Period. AUSTRALIA’S HOMING PIGEON HEROES Down under, harming a homing pigeon isn’t just frowned upon; it’s illegal. These birds, known for their remarkable navigation skills, are protected by a law that imposes a fine of $250 for causing them harm. It’s a testament to Australia’s reverence for its avian inhabitants. GERMANY’S RUN-OUT-OF-GAS BAN The idea of a highway where drivers can go as fast as they want is a reality on Germany’s Autobahn. But it comes with a peculiar (yet understandable) rule: No matter what you do, don’t run out of gas! Not only would it be a safety issue, but you’ll also face a hefty fine. So, fill up before heading out. MILAN’S SMILE MANDATE In Milan, Italy, they take fashion seriously. Smiles are at the top of their list, too. An old, never-repealed city regulation from Austro-Hungarian times mandates that everyone must smile at all times, barring those attending funerals or spending time in a hospital. This unique law, originating from an idea by Luigi Fabio, is aimed at ensuring a cheerful public demeanor. So, when in Milan, keep smiling — it’s not just good manners, it’s the law! EGYPT’S BELLY DANCING DECREE In Egypt, the art of belly dancing is a cultural treasure and is also subject to gender-specific legislation. Here, men are prohibited from performing this traditional dance. This law highlights the unique cultural and historical significance of belly dancing in Egypt and the gender roles traditionally associated with this mesmerizing art form. These laws are a testament to the diverse nature of legal systems across the world. They remind us that the rule of law can sometimes be as varied as the cultures they represent. Fostering Trust and Openness
THE IMPORTANCE OF ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE
Attorney-client privilege is a cornerstone of all legal work. Ensuring an open and honest communication channel between individuals and their legal representatives is incredibly important. With it, these
representatives can adequately represent them in court. This fundamental concept can establish a confidential, safe space where clients can and should freely express all information to their attorney. At its core, this privilege is a legal principle that protects the confidentiality of any communication between clients and their lawyers. Clients should be encouraged to be forward with their attorneys, providing them with all relevant information without fear of disclosure or judgement. The underlying intent is to assure any clients that they can ask questions and share key information without the fear of having their private information used against them in court. This extends beyond meetings in the office or courtroom. All forms of communication between attorneys and their clients are protected under this privilege. This includes written correspondence like emails and texts, phone calls, and in-person discussions. The protected information can be
used to better understand your case’s unique intricacies and formulate effective legal strategies to enact in court. While this is incredibly protective, like any legal concept, this privilege is not absolute. This privilege can be waived in some situations, such as when the client voluntarily shares information with a third party. If you have a lawyer friend you’re sharing sensitive information with, and they’re not acting in a professional capacity, this isn’t considered privileged information. Finally, the ethical rules we operate under permit disclosure of information that will prevent death or substantial bodily injury. As a vital component of the legal system, attorney- client privilege empowers individuals to seek legal counsel without fearing their confidential information being exposed to others. By preserving this privilege, we uphold the principles of justice that ensure clients can collaborate alongside attorneys to pursue equitable and fair outcomes in court.
