HOW UPLIFTING OTHERS CAN BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY Thriving on Thankfulness
Picking others up is a wonderful way to pick yourself up, too. Encouraging the people in our lives, whether they are coworkers, friends, or family, has an amazing ripple effect. This helps someone else move forward, improve, and find the inspiration to do great things while also allowing you to focus on gratitude, a powerful energy producer. National Day of Encouragement is on Sept. 12, a time to highlight why it’s important to lift each other up. At CHB, we believe in the power of encouragement and have seen its ability to build confidence, improve people’s attitudes, and prompt positive action. Encouraging others is far more than sharing our thanks; it’s showing people we appreciate them and want to help them grow through constructive feedback and recognition of their efforts. When you share your thankfulness for someone else, the positive impacts are contiguous. Practicing gratitude can strengthen relationships and can also bring many benefits to you personally. Research shows that people who practiced gratitude regularly, 15 minutes a day, five days a week, saw an improvement in their mental wellness and a long-lasting change in their perspective. A dose of gratitude can also make you mentally and physically healthier. Gratitude has been linked to reducing symptoms of depression. People with a thankful mindset and who
regularly encourage others tend to feel more satisfied with life and their relationships. Focusing on the positive and what we have can combat anxiety and gain deeper self-confidence. Constructive criticism, especially in the workplace, is essential to encouragement. This feedback is about building people up, not tearing them down. By pinpointing areas for improvement, you are giving an employee or teammate a map for personal and professional growth. When providing constructive feedback, remain objective and balanced, highlighting what that person has done well and what they could improve. Great constructive criticism is provided promptly and remains focused on growth. When you approach constructive feedback with the right tone, it shows your employees that you are invested in their success and care about them feeling seen. This can motivate people to do even better and seek opportunities for more responsibilities or promotions. It also improves the culture of your business overall, as feedback helps develop staff and inform plans for future training or development. It clearly spells out your company’s goals and expectations to your team. Conversely, avoiding constructive criticism or approaching it from the wrong angle can lead to frustration. Your employees may feel discouraged about their futures and have little direction on how to build their skill sets. People will repeat the same mistakes, and your organization will feel it.
Discussing errors is never fun, but remember that this criticism is meant to grow people and is an opportunity to collaborate. Make it a habit to regularly provide constructive criticism and praise or highlight employee accomplishments. You can recognize people in meetings, offer career development opportunities, organize team-building activities, and personally congratulate employees when they have hit a milestone or have done phenomenal work. Gratitude is something you can practice and improve upon. So, if you want to improve at encouraging others, start by focusing on the positive things in your life. Jot down something that went well in your day and remind yourself of that success. When you thank someone, pause for a moment and identify what specifically you are grateful for. Most of all, whether you are giving constructive feedback or just recognizing a great job done, ensure you let the other person know that you have faith in their abilities and are there to help them shine even brighter. As we embrace the National Day of Encouragement, take a moment to reflect on what you’re thankful for and spread that appreciation. Together, we can create a ripple effect of encouragement that inspires, motivates, and uplifts everyone involved. –Kit West & Ed Meyer

EXPAND YOUR REACH: BUILDING AN EFFECTIVE EMAIL LIST
According to Statista, the American digital advertising market saw over $270 billion in revenue in 2023. Around 80% of advertising money goes toward digital rather than physical ads. Digital marketing is necessary to grow your brand, but it can be expensive. Email marketing lists are a form of affordable digital marketing with considerable growth potential. Sending emails is always less costly than purchasing digital ad space. Here are some tips for creating an effective email list. Growing Your Email List Pop-up forms and digital ads are two essential elements to building an email list. Pop-up forms are easy to set up. They also capture the visitor’s attention by giving them a prompt they must interact with to continue viewing the site and describe at least one important benefit they’ll get if they subscribe to your email list. This can cause FOMO (fear of missing out) on essential updates to your products or coupon codes, such as 10% off their first purchase when signing up. It is also important to incorporate a 5–20-second delay before the pop-up form appears to ensure only interested viewers have the option of subscribing.
If you want to maximize results, minimize the barrier to entry. To start, you should only require the minimum information, such as name and email. After a user signs up, send them a verification email to make sure the customer is genuine. Digital ads on Facebook are cost-effective and scalable. As your business grows, you can increase or decrease your digital ad presence to match your needs. When you’re satisfied with your email list, you can back off; alternatively, you can expand your campaign to drive up the number of customers subscribing to it. Segmenting and Maintaining the List Email lists help you maintain relationships with your clients, especially when targeting your audience precisely. You can segment the customers on your email list based on their purchase history, interests, and demographics. This way, you can send personalized emails to different customer groups to maximize profitability. You should also regularly remove inactive subscribers and non-functional or duplicate email addresses. This helps prevent email carriers from falsely flagging your emails as spam. By utilizing these techniques, you can grow your email list and benefit from increased customer engagement.

Unlock the Best Equipment Deals How Your Credit Score Makes a Difference
• 1 lb ground turkey • 1 onion, diced INGREDIENTS
When acquiring the equipment your business needs to thrive, your credit score is more than just a number — it’s your key to unlocking the financing you need. Credit scoring plays a huge part in determining an applicant’s creditworthiness. It tells someone’s payment history and track record for making timely payments. Understanding how your credit score impacts your financing options can make all the difference. Let’s explore why your credit standing is vital in securing the best deals on equipment! Your credit score is a significant component of the five Cs of credit: collateral, cash flow, character, capital, and conditions. Collateral Collateral is the personal assets a borrower will pledge as security for a loan that the lender can collect if loan payments stop. The collateral for loans for equipment like helicopters, lathes, and tow trucks is typically similar equipment. You may be able to use other pieces of towing equipment, for example, as collateral for equipment you want to finance. Cashflow

Documents like bank statements and tax returns help show that you can repay a loan. We want to get a good sense of your company’s revenue, profitability, and debt leverage. Character We also examine the borrower’s reputation in financial matters. During a character check, we review markers like credit history, time in business, experience, and reliability. Capital Your capital level will also play an important role in determining creditworthiness. It includes your net worth, personal financial investment into the business, retained earnings, and your other assets. The more capital you can provide, the better your options for borrowing, as it shows a sense of ownership and a means to repay the debt if needed. Conditions We also look at the industry as a whole and how its economic conditions may impact a borrower. These conditions may complicate someone’s successful repayment of their loan. It’s essential to have a plan in place to deal with unexpected conditions when you apply for a loan.
By understanding your credit score’s impact on the five Cs of credit, you can better position yourself to secure the best financing deals. With a solid credit standing, you can invest in machinery and your business’s future success.
