Marin Senior Fair
Sept. 7: Ember Stomp Festival Head to the third annual Ember Stomp Festival at the Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive in San Rafael, on Sept. 7 to educate the whole family on wildfire preparedness and prevention. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. attendees will learn through a variety of immersive experiences, including fire smart landscaping exhibits, live burn demos and more. Participants will hear from service providers and discover wildfire products. There will also be a “Kids Zone” equipped with a magician, face painting, sing-a-longs and interactive games. Available until Sept. 24: Le Doggie Dining at Left Bank Brasserie Left Bank Larkspur has a special dining option for your furry friends—Le Doggie Dining! Through Sept. 24 your pets can experience fine dining with a special doggie Chou Chou menu. Out on the patio, 507 Magnolia Ave in Larkspur, your doggos can have their fill of grilled chicken thigh, beef bone marrow, grilled ground beef or homeward bound dog biscuits. Sept. 18: Marin Senior Fair This year marks the 36th annual Marin Senior Fair at Marin Center Exhibit Hall, 20 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael. On Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. attendees can walk around and gather information from over 140 exhibit booths. Enjoy a day filled with live entertainment on the main stage, food vendors and interactive games/activities. The event is free, and the theme of this year’s senior fair is flower power! Sept. 21: 2024 San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition Finals Five finalists, having risen to the top of this year’s field during four weeks of elimination shows throughout Northern California, will each perform for 15 minutes. They’ll hope to hear their name announced as the winner of the lion’s share of $20,000- plus in prize money. Not to mention the glory that goes with joining Comedy Competition alumni like Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Pollak, Sinbad, Robin Williams and Louis CK.
