Albany Country Club

Manager’s Message Continued

Winter snows and freezing temperatures didn’t stop Marcus and our golf course maintenance team from keeping busy as they diligently monitored turf health and continued with ongoing projects. They are in the process of removing 35 dead or diseased ash and pine trees and this spring we plan to do drainage work on holes 4, 7 and 8. Marcus has had four people return from last year and seven additional team members coming on in the next couple of weeks; he still needs three more, so if you know anyone looking for work, please let him know. The greens are “greening up” well and as long as spring prevails, we expect to be opening the golf course in time for Easter weekend. The three Har-Tru tennis courts are scheduled to be reconditioned before Memorial Day and Shannon will be gearing up tennis operations in mid-May. We have exciting plans in the works for the other two courts, keep posted for further details. Sara-Becca has been busy touring and signing up new members so please be sure to take a moment to welcome these new friends when you see them around the Club. The best advertising for our Club comes from our happy members, so please continue to refer your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to Sara-Becca so we can bring them into Albany Country Club! The Albany Business Review recently published an article about the growth of country clubs throughout COVID and included mention of our Club as well. We are excited to be in a growth phase and your active enjoyment of your Club and referral of friends makes that possible.

Thank you for your continued support of Albany Country Club. All of us on staff look forward to the pleasure of serving you again soon!

GPS Advertising Opportunity

PPP Advertising on golf cart gps monitors Spots are already being filled. Don't miss your opportunity! Advertising will initially only be offered to member owned or operated businesses and only go outside the Club if all advertising spots have not been sold.

To offset the cost of the Premier Pricing Program, the Club will use an underutilized resource…selling advertising on the golf cart GPS monitors. The Club is sensitive to the idea that members don’t want to constantly see pop up ads when they are looking for a yardage. As a solution, full screen advertising will only be sold, and pop up, on the four par 3’s and as small inserts at the bottom right of the screen for the other 14 holes. Additionally, advertising will be understated and use cross marketing/promotion of Club events whenever possible.
