A Message from your Managing Director Some of you will be reading this on Christmas Eve - Happy Christmas! The rest of you will be reading it on January 4 th – Happy New Year! It comes as no surprise to me that we have had a fantastic December in terms of invoiced sales – one of the best Decembers ever - this on top of really strong Oct & Nov sales figures. A year that started slowly has ended spectacularly strongly and with the pipeline filling nicely I am very optimistic that 2016, 2017 & beyond will be great years for MESM. On the customer side we are starting to see Novartis orders increase, PRA has been a runaway train of an account increasing month by month. We have won new business in Merck and in KCR and we are very hopeful of doing the same in PPD.

Amgen and the other current accounts continue to contribute well. Our customer base footprint is growing – more customers provides a wider, firmer foundation for the business. Good work from an enthused and newly invigorated Account Management, Business Development and Marketing team. Operationally we have made great progress in 2015 - the Warehouse Team have made huge strides not just in general housekeeping but also in efficient working practice and layout. Our dispatch and collections services are slick and, crucially, in control and measurable. We are developing meaningful and mutually productive relationships with suppliers – changes in how we manage BBraun and CME should yield benefits and highly promising new approaches with the likes of Dexcom and Bunzl Healthcare hold great potential. We have strengthened the Purchasing Team and will do so again in January. Our service offering goes from strength to strength and 2015 has seen us add to workshop provision, streamline case handling and start to derive revenue from recycling, repairs and warranties. Now the seam is open, we need to mine it efficiently. A comprehensive service offering is a key differentiator for us. A cash hungry, rapidly expanding business with new suppliers, new customers, new territories and new tax regimes places enormous strain on any Accounts Team. Our IT & Finance departments have done a great job this year in keeping us connected, legal and solvent! 2016 will be a year when we focus some effort on streamlining business activity to make their life easier and more efficient. They are at the end of the “production line” of the many business processes and we must work hard to ensure that they receive good, accurate and usable data and requests. The challenge of continuous expansion impacts Human Resources too – 2015 has been an almost permanent state of recruitment. We have also completed a substantial restructure, introduced flexible working, facilitated the values and behavior workshops and made great preparations for 2016 initiatives including a new approach to training and development.

The US Operation is another area strengthening month on month. Around 20% of product handled for MESM this year has been through this facility – that is a great indicator of growth and the future looks assured. As you will appreciate, 2015 has been a challenging year but we have met it head on and achieved significant things together – on top of delivering some £9m of sales. Of course we have some significant challenges ahead – Unit E integration, further US sales development, Epicor launch and growth of our Diabetes offering amongst them – nothing that we cannot do though! It was great to celebrate with you all recently at the two Christmas Parties. See inside for more on the UK team trip to Manchester and the US Staff were lucky enough to go to Cirque Du Soleil in the Disney Resort (see opposite). So, please take some time to reflect on 2015 - it was a stretch and it flew by but boy did we achieve a lot! On behalf of Kate, David & I thank you. We are so excited to be starting 2016 in the position that we are in. Let’s make it the year that it is promising to be!
