RITAM GRADA / RHYTHM OF THE CITY

ZEMUN PROMENADE Zemun’s promenade along the Danube quay is situated in New Belgrade. Strolling the quay- side on sunny days, though when it’s not stifling, is highly recommended. When it comes to amenities – nothing is lack- ing, just be prepared for lots of noise: an amusement park, ope- nair playground, bungee tram- polines, artificial rock climbing, entire towns – a trampoline room, bumper car track. Dot- ted along the entire route are

MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY Even the main exhibition of this museum is interesting for children because it con- tains antique appliances and devices, telephones and old radio receivers that children can otherwise only see in car- toons. However, children are nonetheless most interest- ed in the section of the muse- um that’s devoted specifically to children and is divided in- to a toy museum and a scien-

floating raft venues housing bars and res- taurants where you can grab lunch, while along the length of the promenade you can also snack on popcorn and enjoy ice cream, pancakes etc. There are more se- rene and relaxed riverside promenades located on the New Belgrade side of the Sava, at the Ušće confluence of the Sa- va and Danube near Branko’s Bridge and along Dorćol’s Danube wharf. All of these walkways offer beautiful views and amenities for children, as well as cycle lanes. If you feel like a sporty day, openair gym facilities are situated alongside these promenades. ADA CIGANLIJA Lake Sava is a veritable paradisiacal oa- sis for the whole family. Prepare to en- joy both nature and activities, because one doesn’t know what to do first there. From an adventure park, mini golf and crane bungee, to café-bars with chil- dren’s playrooms and sports courts and pitches. When it comes to food, you won’t go home hungry – there’s fast food, food available at restaurants, vari- ous snacks – it’s all on offer. On the Sa- va side is a science park, a picnic park, sports pitches and courts, the Ada Safa- ri complex, where you can both fish and enjoy fish specialities. Whichever side you choose, you can cross to the other side on foot, by bike or by catching the small trackless train... KALEMEGDAN Belgrade’s top ‘must-see’ tourist desti- nation, but also a living part of the city that’s used every day by children, pen- sioners and artists, Kalemegdan is a city park that has a fortress as its central part. Perhaps the most beautiful view

of Belgrade is provided right on the for- tress’s plateau above the confluence of the Danube and Sava, next to the sym- bol of the city that is the Victor Monu- ment. Depending on their age, you can take children to explore Kalamegdan’s fortress, follow the knight’s campaign through the Planetarium, check out the Roman Well, Ružica Church, Nebojša Tower, the Military Museum and the Gallery of the Natural History Museum, cannons on display outdoors and a di- nosaur park, while there are also the fa- mous amusement park with fairground rides and Belgrade Zoo. BELGRADE WATERFRONT Occupying the very centre of the city, sprawling along the right bank of the Sava, this area was initially conceived as a place that would also be suitable for the youngest, which is why it can boast of having a large number of play- grounds equipped with an abundance of innovative playground equipment. For older children, the multifunc- tional sports court is the right place to experience exciting moments with friends – whether they choose basket- ball, handball or futsal – while they can also “cross racquets” on the near- by ping pong tables. This unique oasis of greenery at the heart of Belgrade is an ideal location for a family picnic or outdoor birthday celebration. Belgrade Waterfront also stands out in particu- lar thanks to the fact that all build- ings in the neighbourhood have inner courtyards with plenty of greenery and children’s playground facilities, so par- ents can relax and let their children play carefree in the natural environ- ment, knowing they are safe.

tific part. The exhibition setting is de- signed to promote learning through discovery, participation, experimenta- tion and direct contact with scientific challenges. Interactive exhibits famil- iarise visitors with phenomena from the fields of astronomy, mathematics, physics, biology, psychology and log- ic in a fun way, encouraging consid- eration and imagination by engaging various senses and abilities. Young vis- itors will have opportunities to feel the power of centrifugal force, test their sense of balance and experience opti- cal illusions, allowing them to direct- ly learn more about scientific princi- ples. Don’t consider this museum as being exclusively for schoolkids – chil- dren as young as three can understand and familiarise themselves with some of the concepts the museum presents. This place is wonderful fun, especially if you want to spend quality time with your children. MUSEUM OF ILLUSIONS This fascinating world of illusions, de- signed to shake visitors’ confidence in their own senses and perception, rep- resents a place that provides fun for all generations. Through play and in- teractions with the exhibits, visi- tors can learn more about perception, the human brain and the science be- hind illusions. While stacking wooden brain teasers that improve spatial log- ic skills, visitors develop their creativity and ability to think outside the box. If you’re seeking a unique experience that combines fun and education, the Muse- um of Illusions at the heart of Belgrade won’t leave anyone feeling indifferent, and your children will be thrilled!
