Brownsville. We did it again with this year’s Pedal To Padre 2018 bike ride from the Brownsville Events Center to the Schlitterbahn Water Park at South Padre Island. This event was joined in by thousands of bike riders from different cities and states. Not only did we get to have a great exercise with our 50 mile bike ride but we also got to enjoy the beautifulsceneryalong the road.BackToActionPhysicalTherapysupportsPedalToPadre Inc. as they make donations to local non-profit causes in the cities we ride through or to local municipal recreation, beautification, or tourism causes. EaglePass. EaglePasshosted theChamberofCommerceBusinessAfterHoursmixer.We hadagreat turnoutandaregrateful tohavesuchanawesomeandsupportivecommunity. Various local business representatives showed up for an evening of networking, food, and fun. Thank you to our staff, Elena, Rosanna, Nohemi, and Pam Crouch, our office administrator for all of your help in making this night possible. Back To Action Physical Therapy in Harlingen donated $250 to the Laguna Madre Humane Society for a fundraiser called Meows, Mutts and Margaritas. The money raised will go towards spaying/neutering, heartworm treatment, rehabilitation, adoptions and transport. Wedonated$100totheRGVWarriors7UTravelBaseballTeam.Thisprogramwasdeveloped foryouthplayers toexcelat thegameofbaseballwithanemphasisonpersonalgrowth,as wellasmentalandphysicaldevelopment.Wealsodonated$250 to theBoysandGirlsClub. On May 24th, we purchased red noses to give out to patients and staff to celebrate Red Nose Day. Red Nose Day is run by the nonprofit Comic Relief USA, which harnesses the power of entertainment to drive positive change for children living in poverty. It has helped to fundnumerousprograms toensure thatchildren inneedaresafe,healthyandeducated, which includes meals for hungry children. Del Rio. We would like to introduce our new physical therapist, Fernando Muniz, who has joined theBack toAction team inDelRio toworkwithKristi.Originally fromChile,Fernando has been working in Texas for the past three years. We are excited to welcome him to Del Rio! Physical therapy technicians Laura and Rosa celebrated their birthdays this month and our Patient Care Coordinator, Carmen, had her 2 year anniversary with Back to Action! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the company! Kristi participated in Career Day at Del Rio Middle School. She spoke with students about physical therapy, the role of the profession, and the education requirements to become a physical therapist. The studentsaskeda lotofgreatquestionsand itwasapleasure tobeable tospeakwith them!
