Spin4Kids INDUSTRY FEATURE
Variety Spin4Kids returns
Children should be able to follow their dreams and be the best they can be, no matter what life throws at them and no matter what their ability. Variety Tasmania is passionate about all kids deserving a fair go. We believe no child should fall through the gaps. Variety recognises the challenges some children face in finding their voice and in dreaming about their future – our future. That’s why Variety works every day to ensure children, all children, have the right to live, laugh and learn in an inclusive and nurturing environment. Variety helps families and organisations when government assistance isn’t available through grants, Kids Experiences and Kids Programs like the Variety Creative Arts Program, Kids Sports Days, Variety Motor Mouth Camp and the Variety Breakfast Club. Variety Tasmania is encouraging corporate teams as well as individuals to create a team and sweat for a cause. There’ll be plenty of fun too, with trophies being awarded to the highest fundraiser, the Master of Spin (the person who rides the most kilometres) and the Best Team Costume. There are limited spots available for this great event, so sign up today at https://tasfundraising.variety.org.au/event/variety- spin4kids-2023
Spin4Kids is a fun, five-hour team spin challenge spurred on by spin instructors from the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre and Hobart celebrities John X, Dave Noonan and Sarah Morrison. There’ll be high energy music, colourful costumes, and the goal of raising funds for Tassie kids in need. Teams are pitted against each other – each needing to keep the pedals of their single stationary bike spinning for five continuous hours on Sunday May 28 at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre! Last year 52 brave souls took on our inaugural Variety Spin4Kids - some in teams of 10, and one fearless warrior did the whole five hours solo. In 2022 Variety Tasmania’s inaugural Spin4Kids event raised $17,000, contributing to the lives of 4559 kids. This year their goal is to raise over $25,000 for Variety Tasmania. Each year, thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, get support from Variety the Children’s Charity when they need it most.
All children deserve the same opportunities in life.
