This unique program provides troops with three different art options to select from: create a clay animal sculpture, build a birdhouse, or create an animal canvas painting. Regardless of the option you select, Girls are guaranteed to have fun, while letting their creativity soar. In this workshop, Girls will learn about different colors and explore how those colors affect mood, then they’ll have a chance to express their own mood by creating either an origami animal or making a flower from colored paper. Explore gardening techniques and your creativity. In this workshop Girls will learn the basics to gardening, while creating a unique piece of garden art - painted flowerpot or clay plant maker. Discover how art influences our lives. Girls will explore different cultures around the world and the art of those cultures. They’ll then complete an art project from one of the cultures they learned about – from painting henna patterns to batik fabric dying. Explore your own heritage and create a family tree! Using mixed media techniques, Girls will combine paint and photos to create their family tree. Prior to this workshop, Girls will want to research their family story and compile family articles and photos that they can use in their family tree collage. Just keep swimming! Learn about fish – from what they need to survive to ways to prevent pollution. Girls will have a chance to select from a variety of fish-related activities including turning a pinch pot fish into a vase or plant, sculpting a fish out of clay, or creating a fish out of a plastic bottle.
