Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) Troop Meetings in Jackson, Platte, Clay, Wyandotte, Johnson, and Cass Counties | Virtual Experience MOCSA’s mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and sexual assault and prevent sexual violence in our communities. Programs can be customized based on topics, troop level, and troop goals and can be led at troop meetings or virtually. Girls will learn to identify between healthy and unhealthy relationships by taking a closer look at the cycle of violence and abusive relationships. Topics will include warning signs to recognize, relationship boundaries and how to define them, and how to support others who might be in an abusive relationship. Length : 45-90 minutes. Girls will learn about consent and sexual assault. Topics will include facts and myths, the impact of sexual assault, intervention tips, and what to do if sexual assault happens. Girls will learn about common gender stereotypes and their relationship to sexual violence. Discussion topics include the role the media plays in creating gender stereotypes and how gender stereotypes impact personal identity and relationships. Length : 45-90 minutes.

Girls will learn about body safety including what to do if someone makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe, identifying trusted adults, understanding the difference between good, bad, and confusing touches and more. This workshop is available in both English and Spanish. Girls will learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships by taking a closer look at their personal relationships and discussing how communication, respect, abuse, and boundaries play an important role. Length : 45-60 minutes. Girls will learn about the different types of sexual harassment, the difference between flirting and sexual harassment, and actions they can take if sexual harassment happens to them. In addition, Girls will explore internet harassment, cyber bulling and sexting. Length : 45-60 minutes.
