Kansas City Zoo connects people to each other and the natural world to promote understanding, appreciation, and conservation. Our educational programs encourage a sense of wonder and curiosity about animals, promote science literacy, enhance understanding of our connection to the natural world, foster a stewardship ethic of caring for wildlife, and inspire conservation action.
KU National History Museum is a biodiversity research institute and a public natural history museum located in the heart of KU-Lawrence Campus providing hands-on activities to develop skills and knowledge in various science fields. Girls will participate in hands- on workshops, special event booths, and expert speakers to create a natural fit for your group's needs. Click here to register your troop’s activity. Did you ever wonder what the animals do when the zoo closes? Spend the night at the Kansas City Zoo and discover what happens when the sun goes down. Stay indoors at the Helzberg Penguin Plaza or Polar Bear Passage, or camp under the stars in Australia or Africa. Hike through the zoo and enjoy evening activities - perfect for families and troops!
