CANOE ALLEY SPORTS RESULTS, EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH & MORE
WĀHINE POWER Outrigger Canoe Club represented two out of 48 crews from around the world in this year’s Nā Wāhine O Ke Kai. ➳ The renowned annual race begins at Hale O Lono Harbor on Moloka‘i and continues for 41 miles across the Ka‘iwi Channel, ending at Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Waikīkī. For more than four decades, this prestigious race continues to inspire paddlers in Hawai‘i and far beyond. After a four year hiatus, the O‘ahu Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association (OHCRA) once again hosted the Moloka‘i Channel World Championships and OCC’s dedicated wāhine came fully prepared, practicing long hours to be in prime physical and mental shape. Congratulations to all the participants who continue to challenge themselves and perpetuate one of Hawai‘i’s and Polynesia’s most important and historic cultural traditions.
