YPP is a community organizing and so - cial justice organization of young people, aged under 35, that strives to create power among youth and young adults through engaging in issue campaigns and voter education campaigns in Montgomery County, Maryland. Their core values are Social & Economic Justice, Diversity and Solidarity. The group advocates for: real change to policing and public safety on the streets and in schools; for harm reduction, including diversion, decriminalization, and responding to nonviolent and non-emergen - cy issues with non-police personnel; and investing in measures that strengthen communities and prevent crime, such as homelessness services and affordable housing, workforce development and youth programs, free, accessible, and safe public spaces.
