reflect the principles and objectives of Islamic activism; and that these models are simple and reductive, and do not reflect the complexity of the networked international environment. Through broad-based critical analysis of the prevailing theoretical structures, such as the campaign for the boycott of French products on Twitter, the study suggests a theoretical model for potential network-enabled mass activism in Muslim societies and follows the course of this kind of activism and the restrictions imposed in the international environment.
