WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE IS A WAY to reach those who have never heard

By INEZ McGAHEY B. L. Litchman (’ 17), Congo Beige: “ I have just finished two safari to the Lake regions . . . which are dangerous and haz ardous trips. . . . When we came to the village of Zile, the church leaders said, *. . . the headman wants to give us a parcel of ground since his people are Protestants by choice. . .’ So, we have a place to build a school and chapel . . . In Ngenge . . . We had six decisions and fourteen confes sions were made. . . . We had meetings in other places . . . with a total attendance of about 3000. . . . Since I have received the license, I shall pick up the goods and then I trust to have my transister P.A. system with me.” Roy ’54 and Georgialee Mayfield, Philip pines: “ The Agtas, like so many primitive peoples, have very few ideas concerning God. The only Agta word for God found thus far is ‘Namaratu,’ meaning ‘creator.’ Pray that these people will experience the working of the Holy Spirit in their heart as a result of hearing God’s Word in their own tongue.” Dorothy (Cornell ’34) and Sydney Best, Yokohama: “ Funds for the student Center have not come as quickly as we had hoped. . . . ~We cannot begin the construction until the property is bought. The Satur day night meeting has been very well at tended and some are helping in the Church Sunday School and singing in the choir. In the recent special meetings, 24 accepted Christ. About 12 of these enrolled in a Catechism Class. . . . One of our students, Rachael, is now attending Biola.” Jack ’50 and Linda (Woelk ’50) Hen derson, Peru: “ In April we returned to Peru and received our new assignments; Linda in Publications Department; Jack as Jungle Coordinator of personnel for Wycliffe in Peru. . . . Recently a little granny in a Cocama village found Christ as her Saviour, the first believer there. Her husband also accepted the Lord. In one vil lage of Machiguenga Indians, all but three adults turned to Christ. It seems that the Lord is opening another land to W.B.T. in South America. Pray for this.” Al ’55 and June (Hawker ’53) Johnson, Venezuela, South America: “ Greetings from the City of Sawmills, Acarigua, which has become the site of more than a dozen sawmills near the great hard wood forests . . . We have been minister ing in two country churches as well as holding Gospel meetings in the city itself. Since we moved down here in September, the Lord has opened the door to meetings in another little town. No doubt you are aware of the intensity of the political turmoil here. The Communists are using the occasion to stir up anti-United States feelings.” Don A. (’56) and Barbara (Cates ’57) Brown: “W e have been doing deputation work primarily in the Southern California area . . . Two outstanding events are Don’s ordination and the birth of our little boy, Loren Neal . . . Pray definitely for God’s undertaking in our outgoing so that in His appointed time we can be on our way to Africa.”

Many have never heard because there has been no way for them to hear. ff. . . and how shall they believe in H im o f whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach, except they be sent? . . M (Rom . 10:14, 15). The Christian’s will can provide the means for thorough training in handling the Word of God for consecrated young men and women who have said, ". . . Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8) . When you remember The Bible Institute of Los Angeles in your will you have the assurance that all or a portion of your estate will be a continuation of your testimony for Christ in this training of hundreds of dedicated young lives for world-wide Christian service. A simple inquiry addressed to our Field Department will bring the needed information relative to the steps necessary in making your will.
