PRAYER CHANGES THINGSI The earnest prayers of God's people around the world can be the means of making this the greatest time of spiritual harvest Australia has yet seen. Most of the generation who witnessed the great spiritual awakening in Australia during the Torrey-Alexander and Chapman-Alexander campaigns has passed. Some of the outstanding fundamental leaders In America today came out of these great evangelistic crusades of yesteryear. It is to be devoutly hoped that there will arise another generation of great spiritual leaders as a result of the Billy Graham Crusade In Australia. Christians everywhere are urged to pray that the Lord might bless and guide In the hearts of all connected In any way with the Australian Crusade, that His name might be glorified, that souls might be saved and that saints might be built up In our most holy faith.

We are praying for Billy Graham and the Australian Crusade: First, because the Bible encourages and challenges us to pray one for another, to pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His harvest field (in this case, Australia), to pray that God's Word will "run and be glorified" In thousands of hearts there. The effectual, fervent prayer of God's people avails much. Second, Australia needs the Gospel, and many of Its leaders have Invited Billy to preach In their country. Church attendance and spiritual life Is at a low ebb we understand, and Australia needs revival. Third, revival In Australia can be a means to a larger end. Australia can be the base for missionary work in nearby Island world: New Guinea, Indonesia, and the hundreds of Islands In the South Pacific, even much more than has been done in the past.

To succeed In Christian work and witness, Billy Graham and his helpers must deny themselves jn personal self-sacri fice. By the prayers of God's people, they are strengthened for such self-sacrifice. As we join together in prayer for him and his work in Australia, we are likewise drawn together ourselves. In such fashion, we fulfill the evangelical com mand of our Lord. AUSTRALIAN I like to read the words, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1) in reverse order: “instead of fainting, men ought to pray.” In facing opposition, instead of being discouraged, men ought to pray. In facing bitter criticism, Instead of being disheartened, men ought to pray. In facing many difficulties, Instead of being dismayed, men ought to pray. How much the Billy Graham Team needs the prayers of ALL of God's people as they face their coming campaigns! CRUSADE BEGINS FEBRUARY 8th February 8-March 15—MELBOURNE • March 2 9 -April 8-NEW ZEALAND • April 12-May 17—SYDNEY • Mav 18-June 7-TOUR OF AUSTRALIA
