Echocardiogram - is a type of US scan used to look at the structure of the heart, including the heart valves that help maintain blood flow through the heart, and nearby blood vessels. It can check to see if heart valves are opening and closing properly. This opening and closing can be affected by Carcinoid Heart Disease.

Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPEX or CPET) - is an investigation that assesses the way in which your heart, lungs and circulation respond to exercise. It may be used if you are being considered for surgery - to assess your risk for complications and identify any special precautions that may be needed to reduce that risk. If you are to undergo CPEX testing you should be given advice and written information beforehand.

HIDA scan - is a nuclear medicine scan that may be used to assess the function of the liver, bile ducts and gallbladder. The scan may be performed in patients that do not have a gall bladder. ECG (ElectroCardioGram) - is a simple test that can be used to check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity. SeHCAT scan - is a nuclear medicine scan that may be used to assess for bile salt malabsorption.
