A report usually contains one, or a list of tests alongside, one or more results, plus a reference range for each result, a unit of measurement, a ‘flag’ if the result is outside of the reference range / a comment (see image below):

A flag may appear in different forms, such as arrows, stars, colouring or highlights, and tells you whether a result is outside of the expected range. Not all results, ‘normal’ or otherwise, may trigger a comment. When looking at your results, please bear in mind that a result that is outside of the usual range does not always mean that there is a problem. Likewise, a ‘normal’ result does not always mean that nothing is wrong.
