Existing Public Water and Wastewater Capacity Water Treatment Plant Capacity

The 56th Street Redevelopment Area water is served by the David L. Tippin WTP. As reported in the 2018 City of Tampa Master Plan Report – Potable Water Master Plan, this potable water treatment facility has a maximum flow of 120 million gallons per day (MGD) and an annual average daily flow of 81 MGD. There is 39 MGD of available potable water production capacity at the water treatment plant. Wastewater Treatment Plant Capacity The 56th Street Redevelopment Area wastewater is treated by the City of Tampa Howard F. Curren AWWTP. As reported in the 2018 City of Tampa Howard F. Curren AWTP Phase 2 Master Plan Report, the treatment plant has a permitted capacity of 96 MGD, with an annual average flow of 60 MGD and a maximum hourly flow of 190 MGD. This leaves 36 MG of available wastewater treatment plant capacity (annual average flow) for new development or redevelopment if needed. See Table 10 below for a summary of the capacity analysis.
