We added the Top Shelf sire for his excellent phenotype and carcass traits. He had very impressive actual scan data, with a large ribeye and very high IMF score. His calves perform well, have added thickness, and have added value from his high percentage Gelbvieh.

We added this sire to our Balancer program as the high seller at the Seedstock Plus sale in Hope, Arkansas in 2021. He had great phenotype and has kept birthweights down, performance up and adds carcass value with his MB EPD in the top 15% of the breed.

We owned a half-brother to the Balancer Homespun bull, but lost him to injury. We added Homespun for his phenotype, calving ease and strong marbling EPD. Vaughn also said his dam was one of his best cows, with a lifetime weaning ratio of 109. His calves have done exactly as we hoped, with moderate birthweights, a great look and good performance. Heifer bull buyers, watch for his sons.

This Gunner son did a very nice job for us this year. His progeny are a little larger framed with excellent length of body and are darker red in color. He has a very balanced set of EPDs and tends to add performance to his progeny without adding birthweight.
