The name of one of these disciples was Cleopas, the other is unknown, but some have

O thers th in k th a t it may have been. Mary, th e wife of Cleopas, who was a sister of Mary, th e mother of Jesus. She was one of the women who were early a t th e grave. (1) THE WALKING AND WON­ DERING DISCIPLES,, vs. 13, 14, “Two of them went and they talked tog ether.” The two disciples were on th eir way home. It had been a day of trem en­ dous excitement. The stories of the women and of P ete r and John had set th e h earts of the little band of believers tingling w ith in terest. Where was His body? Had the Jews carried it away? Had Joseph made some disposition of it? Had He indeed risen from the tomb? They were communing together over these things as they walked.
