How is it w ith girls who dress in simple, modest fashion, conducting themselves- in a womanly way?:’ _Every wag is silent and an indelible impression is left th a t draws men’s thoughts to Jesus. A pure, Christ-like g irl, becomingly an d neatly dressed, preaches miles of sermons as she passes down th e street. ' P erhaps you haven’t thought of it, but many modern styles are invented w ith the very motive of getting the eyes of men. But the men attracted through such a ttire will never he a credit to any girl. Among pure-m inded men and boys th ere is an increasing disrespect for the female sex, due to th e nonsensi cal styles. It argues for the power a girl has eith er to lift men up or pull them down. Every one of you girls who names the name of Christ is duty bound to reflect th e image of Jesus. It can’t be done through . some of th e modern styles. The Bible says, “Let women adorn them selves in modest apparel.” Again: “Whose adorning, let it not be th a t ou t ward adorning of the putting on of ap parel, but let it be the hidden man of th e h eart, in th a t which is not cor ruptible, even the ornam ent of a meek and qu iet spirit, which is in the sight of God of g reat price.” Again: “I will, therefore, th a t the younger, women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to th e adversary to speak reproachfully.” v It has been said th a t some women Would ra th e r rock the country th a n the cradle.; But can we afford to th ink above God’s thoughts for us? His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts th an our thoughts. We can wield a g reater power over the world by sticking to the teachings of God’s Word th an we can in any other way. Let us tak e our place in the school of Jesus Christ and I know th a t we shall give none occasion tp the adversary.

Girls, do you know th a t many of your hoy friends carry those impressions into the dark room of solitude where they de velop evil thoughts, often resulting la ter in a m isspent life? The women of today have more liber ties th an ever in history. It is the re ligion of the Lord Jesus th a t gives them this exalted position. His teachings de velop th e modesty and virtue so much adm ired by the pure in mind. A girl by h er modesty, virtue and quiet ways swings a trem endous influence fo r good. But girls, if you lose th a t modesty and virtue, your power is gone. P o liti cal speeches will not hold your power in the world.
