I have worked with the organisation for nearly two years and have recently been promoted to Director of Operations and Transformation. The role of Business Manager is extremely important for the Ayrshire Hospice, as it leads our income generation teams, and I am very excited about what the future holds as we embark on a period of innovation and transformation. We are seeking a commercially astute and inspiring leader to work closely with me and our Chief Executive. You will lead our Fundraising and Retail teams, which provide essential income to support the delivery of care for our patients and their families, as detailed within our organisational strategy (view here ). About Us
The Ayrshire Hospice provides excellent specialist palliative and end of life care for adults with a life shortening diagnosis. We support patients and those adding love in our In-Patient Unit and in the community. In addition, our Spiritual Care and Counselling teams support children and young people, as well as the wider family unit, through counselling, bereavement services and emotional and spiritual support. This support is also extended to our staff. Where necessary, we provide a seamless transition from young adult hospice services to our care. Our care seeks to improve quality of life in various ways, for example; we support and advise on symptom control, provide emotional and spiritual care, social care and we provide personal care when it is needed at the end of life. We also have pharmacy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy specialist services as well as our much-valued complementary therapy and Respite and Response services. We can provide care anywhere a person considers their home to be, regardless of the complexities associated with this.

About The Role
As a senior manager you will play a key role in shaping the future of the Ayrshire Hospice by leading the further design, development and implementation of the Hospice’s Income Generation Strategy, ensuring delivery of the associated key performance indicators. You will develop a strategic approach to the donor, corporate partner and supporter journey by developing our brand, our stewardship programme and the range of products we offer across the two Income Generation streams: Fundraising and Retail. This includes working alongside IG managers and supporting the strategic contribution of our eight hospice shops, online store and eBay presence in driving sustainable income growth and strengthening the Hospice’s commercial profile. This will be a results ‑ driven role which will deliver measurable and sustainable income growth whilst managing a high ‑ performing team. There will be particular focus on maintaining growth in income streams, identifying innovative and sustainable sources of new income and managing the commercial profile of the Ayrshire Hospice. You will lead and develop the income generation teams as well as work in collaboration with existing partners while also seeking and developing new strategic partnerships.

Our New Hospice
To ensure the Ayrshire Hospice is prepared to meet the needs of our communities long into the future, we have successfully completed a transformational Capital Build Project in excess of £18 million. The new Hospice is now open, offering increased privacy, comfort, and exceptional care for patients and their families. The new In-Patient Unit features 12 bright, single en-suite rooms with large glass sliding doors that open to private patios overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens. Each room includes a private bathroom and space for family to stay overnight, including cuddle beds to allow loved ones to remain together. Our Living Well Hub provides a calming environment with a wide range of medical and therapeutic support, helping patients live as fully as possible. Additional new spaces include an education and learning suite, hairdresser, patient gym, and beauty spa; all designed to enhance our offerings to the community.
Publicly accessible areas such as Gargowan Cafe, Gargowan Gifts, and contemplation space known as our Magnolia Room, now support income generation and sustainability of our hospice.

Main Responsibilities
Income Generation Reporting directly to Director of Operations and Transformation, lead the development and delivery of an ambitious IG strategy. Lead our Fundraising and Retail Teams to develop, implement and deliver a income generation strategy, managing and monitoring performance against agreed budgets and business plans. Horizon scan and keep abreast of Fundraising and Retail business innovations, methods, opportunities and developments across the charitable sector. Identify and explore any suitable income generation streams for approval. Prepare robust business cases for these opportunities to assess the commercial viability and value for money for presentation to Directors. Develop a clear donor journey for all supporters of The Ayrshire Hospice with a strategic focus on valuing supporter care.
