Thank you for your interest in the Circle S Cattle Co. - Power on the Prairie Bull Sale. No one needs to tell you how exciting and uncharted the times are in the beef cattle industry. This summer our rain totals were off the charts. Many in our surrounding area had rain totals this summer over 40 inches. It was not until August that we saw our grass start to dry out and have the power it normally has. Making winter feed was a challenge to say the least. The bulls are doing well and have really started to develop into the herd sires we know they can be. NEW THIS YEAR… all the bulls have genomically enhanced EPD’s. This means we have pulled blood and had the EPD’s enhanced by the American Simmental Association. This increases the accuracy and predictability of the values and allows you to put more confidence in the numbers. We have worked for 18 years striving to produce cattle that combine form and function for the beef industry. The focus has been on combining phenotype as well as genotype to produce predictable cattle. We work to produce bulls that have an EPD profile above breed average and feel confident that this produces consistency in your operation as well. This year the Weber’s and our nephews have bulls in the sale as well. These will carry the JWEB and HBZZZ prefix. These cows are all managed and maintained with the Circle S herd so nothing is different for them. This year we again are working with Jason & Laura Anderson at Anderson Cattle Co. from Benson, MN. They are contributing 5 bulls to the sale with the JRA prefix. Their breeding program closely aligns with ours. Anderson Cattle Co. produces cattle that combine the phenotype and genotype to provide predictable genetics. The bulls will certainly be above breed average on their EPD profiles and excel in several traits. All bulls selling will be maintained until May 1 at no extra cost. All bulls will go through a breeding soundness exam prior to delivery. We guarantee all bulls for the first breeding season. This guarantee is not insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply we ask you communicate with us as soon as there is a known problem. We will attempt to find a suitable replacement if necessary or credit minus salvage value will be issued for use in a future sale. For bulls staying until May we recommend the buyer acquires insurance and we can assist with that. We will assist in helping clients find transportation for their bulls. All bulls sold within a 250 mile radius will be delivered free of charge. We follow a very strict vaccination program using modified live vaccines. We are also a Johnes negative herd and have been monitoring our cattle for leukosis virus. The lone baldy bull of the sale. He is out of a first calf heifer and has been big middled, eye appealing, and super agile all his life. He has several traits in the top 35% of the breed in-cluding calving ease and growth. He ratioed at a 106 for his weaning weight. If you look at this pedigree in detail it reads like a who’s who in the Simmental breed. Sires include KBHR Honor, Hook’s Black Hawk, Hook’s Eagle, and TJ Chief. On the
dam side of the pedigree he goes back to the infamous Miss Sugar C4 and the powerful T60 cow owned Oak Meadow Farms and Diamond K. This cow family has been a foundation in their operation and several of their lead matriarchs tie into this cow. Perfect baldy to use on heifers and or cows.

The only OMF Hard Right son in the offering. This is an OMF Epic son we have been excited to use, and this bull certainly didn’t disappoint. He has the biggest weaning weight and ra-tios at 120, and is the stoutest biggest bull in the pen. His genetically enhanced EPD’s express his calving ease and moderate growth but he has outperformed his growth numbers. Another pedigree just stacked with sires and dams used all over the Simmental breed. Same cow family as the Lot 1 bull.

We tried the KBHR Revolution bull on the OMF Deka cow and it certainly hit its mark. This cow family is quickly growing in our herd. Two maternal sisters are in production and last year we sold two maternal brothers in our sale. The production level of this pedigree is proving solid. National Treasure is in the top 5% for WW, YW, ADG, $GN, Carcass weight, and Ribeye. He is a bull that will add growth and improve carcass traits. His calves should be very efficient and have tremendous growth potential. Not recommended for use on heifers.

There is no denying the value of Summit as an intriguing performance outcross with an incredible look, and he stamped this son with those same attributes! Built for the long haul, 502N is big footed, rugged, and loose-structured. His soundness and hoof quality make him well-suited to travel across any environment. With his masculinity and stoutness, it’s easy to imagine him producing a terrific set of feeder calves.

Fresh genetics, an awesome dataset, and phenomenal physical design make 501N hard to rival in overall completeness! He is a real standout with no Beacon or Eagle in his pedigree. On top of the tremendous mating flexibility he offers is a wide birth to yearling spread and a $Gain in the top 2%. Even though his API and TI are in the top 3% and 1% of the percentage Simmental population, respectively, his phenotype is off the charts! This is one stunning bull with his structural soundness, rib shape, muscle dimension, and physical presence coupled with leading genomic values. Full possession and pasture rights are selling along with two-thirds semen interest. One-third interest is being retained in the event that semen is marketed on this bull.

It’s hard to contain the excitement this one is generating! He’s one of the few three-quarter blood Leopold sons being offered this spring and is an impressive option for making purebreds with his sire’s influence. Even though the attention has been on his paternal lineage, the phenomenal first-calf heifer that raised him is quickly demonstrating her greatness. This bull is so good in the way he truly blends the best of both sides of his pedigree. While maintaining strong predictions for growth, 504N has the calving ease, marbling, and indexes to make him one of the elite. Adding to his appeal is a clean head and neck along with a tight sheath. With phenotypic quality, progressive tabulations, and a calm disposition, his potential is preeminent! For a calving ease bull, Keynote has a unique ability to transmit muscle shape and growth. With profit indexes in the top 1% and a super stylish appearance, this awesome son is especially enticing as a terminally oriented sire! So often the highest percentile API bulls are extreme on calving ease with average ability to gain and this one has accomplished the rare feat with an inverse of those traits. His predictions
for weaning and yearling weight which surpass both parents along with his overall outline make him well-suited to produce progeny ideal for today’s fed cattle environment. Even if retaining daughters is the goal, 505N has a gentle nature, high-ranking stayability, and the maternal prowess of his dam to produce high-value replacements. This is one stout dude. One if not the heaviest muscled bulls of the Circle S offering. Soft in his makeup and design. He was born a twin to a heifer. 10 EPD traits are in the 30th percen-tile or higher, including API and TI. Low BW and above average growth make him the com-mercial bull buyers dream. He is a KBHR Honor son going back to one of our CSCC Easy Money daughters. There has been a bull from this cow in the sale every year since we started doing it online. Once again Braxton’s matriarch cow had another bull. Hey, at least she is consistent. Docility score in the 15% percentile and if you don’t believe me look at his picture. What you can’t see is the amount of antics going on in front of him trying to get his head up. He has a very balanced set of EPD’s in his profile. The TJ High Miles calves have been big framed and growthy. I would expect this bull to sire the same. A solid bull for any operation.

The first Five Star Jackson bull in the offering. We have greatly appreciated the Jackson calves because of both their physical traits and EPD profiles. The dam is a maternal sib to the Lot 3 bull and our OMF Deka donor cow. If you are retaining ownership in your calves past weaning this guy needs to be on your list. He is in the top 25% for $GN which is a measurement of profitability factoring in average daily gain and dry matter intake. The more I have studied this bull, his phenotype really grows on you. For those that may be looking for a bull to sire some show calves. He is the best haired one in the bunch and that comes from the Hilbrands.
