How it works .

With an air curtain, warm air is retained and cold air entering is heated. The air curtain creates an invisible barrier separating the air between the two spaces.

2 Mounting height . What is the height of your doorway?
What is the width of your doorway?
Air flow should be wider than the width of the door opening. An air curtain that overlaps the full opening will provide maximum protection against the ingress of cool air and pollutants.
Mounting height is a key consideration when selecting an air curtain. To provide an effective barrier, it is essential that the unit has sufficient air velocity to cover the entire height and width of the doorway.

How will it be powered?
It is essential that there are no obstructions between the air curtain’s discharge jet and the opening of the doorway. If there is an obstacle such as a beam, air vent or glass wall, you should consider suspending standard units on drop rods or selecting a recessed or vertical option.
Electric and water heated units come with an Ecopower energy saving controller, which allows you to choose the most appropriate control strategy for your environment. Unheated units are supplied with an ambient controller that allows you to turn them on and off and choose one of three fan speeds. To ensure maximum effectiveness and comfort, it is important to select the appropriate air flow heating system for your specific installation.

Available in heights up to 3 metres, Thermoscreens PHV Vertical air curtains are designed for applications that are not suitable for a traditional horizontal air curtain. An effective control strategy minimises ownership and operating costs and ensures that heated air curtains maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature at all times. Controlling the fan speed is particularly important. If the velocity is too low, the air stream will be too weak to stop cool air entering the building. If you have another manufacturer’s controls on site, let our sales team know as we can supply and fit most other leading brands. Should you already have a system integrator appointed to the project, Thermoscreens can work with them to resolve any technical gaps, approve wiring schemes and factory fit their controls to reduce your time on site and make commissioning go smoother.
The Thermocoil Fan Coil offers a low noise, highly efficient solution that will work as part of an HVAC system found in, commercial, and industrial buildings. The Thermoscreens fan coil range offers efficient performance incorporating EC/DC energy-efficient fan motors, keeping noise levels to a minimum.
