“When we started looking for a new home in 2014, the list was simple: a quality building, a perfect floorplan with heaps of natural light, all in a neighbourhood we loved and wanted to call home. We first visited 603 on a foggy early spring day while the building was still under construction. When we walked in, it instantly checked all the boxes without stepping foot onto the roof deck and without seeing the view through the thick fog. We chased the seller and worked hard to make it ours. From the first morning that we woke up in our new home, we recognized that all our work (and some of our guessing) paid off: we had a home that is rejuvenating to wake up in all four seasons; it is bright, feels fresh, connected to the city, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle to evoke a constant calm. In purchase, the roof was a non-factor, but it’s now something we couldn’t live without, expanding space for memorable entertaining through the late spring and fall. And then there’s the view… as a friend once described as “living art” and a sight that we have never taken for granted. Each time we pause to glance out the windows, view and observe the position of the setting of the sun from north to south as the seasons change, it doesn’t get old. We have babied this place and made as many thoughtful enhancements as we could without changing the original design vision of the Architects and Interior Designers. We know you’ll appreciate life here as much as we did – from the very first morning to every one that follows.”

THE SUITE One of only two west-facing corner-unit penthouses on an exclusive floor with only four suites, this remarkable 1,185 square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with almost 600 square-foot private roof deck take condo life and entertaining to a whole new level. GBL Architects is a cohesive and progressive Vancouver-based architecture firm providing a full range of architectural services to the public and private sector. Since 1982, the company has played a significant role in shaping the urban landscape of Metro Vancouver. They have more recently expanded their boundaries and completed projects in Alberta. They have also participated in several housing and public space idea competitions – most notably the World Health Organization design competition for their headquarters in Geneva. The company is heavily influenced by the concept of “Emergent Architecture”, something Stu Lyon, Principal at GBL Architects, described as “fresh and new”, a modern design theme that is reflective of a progressive future. It is one of the driving forces behind the success and uniqueness of the company. From a creative and idealistic point of view, GBL Architects offers the following interpretation of their craft: “Emergent Architecture is fueled by the notion that great ideas exist just below the surface and within our reach.
