COCO’S CORNER STAY SAFE AS THE WEATHER HEATS UP!
furry little sister Sophie cannot bear a second on the fake grass – she heads for cover so fast – it is too hot for her precious paws. The kids keep cool by jumping in the pool and eating lots of popsicles. It is so much fun to watch them run and jump. When the sun gets lower in the sky and there is some shade, all three of us dogs run circles around the pool, too! Summer is fun! If you have pets, pay attention to their response to the heat. Some people assume dogs can handle the heat well because they’re
animals, but our bodies don’t work that way. We’re actually at a higher risk for heatstroke because our bodies run warmer naturally. If you take your pup for a walk or just hang out in the backyard, provide plenty of water for them. If you notice sluggish behavior or increased panting, head on inside. Your dog will be much more comfortable in the air conditioning! I hope you have a great summer!
Whenever summer rolls around, we feel a buzz of excitement. The kids are out of school, vacations are on the horizon, and so many fun events help us make the most of the season. I’ll likely spend my outdoor time on the real grass whenever we head outside! My
