The information I contribute as a patient provides important information about myself as a patient in which the industry can start to identify trends and commonalities across all contributors. This can help researchers find a starting point which puts them steps (and years) ahead in finding a cure. Trending information can also start to identify potential clusters of ocular melanoma and put additional awareness and education to help be ahead of OM.
